About: Action Against Hunger
Founded in 1979, Action Against Hunger is an international non-governmental organization that fights against hunger worldwide. Its charter of humanitarian principles – independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been its identity for over 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition, particularly during and after emergencies related to conflicts and natural disasters. Action Against Hunger coordinates its programs around 5 areas of activity: Nutrition and Health – Mental Health, Psychosocial Support and Protection – Food Security and Livelihoods – Water, Sanitation and Hygiene – Advocacy. Assignment :
As a Gender and Protection Assistant, and under the supervision of the Gender and Protection Service Manager, your main role will be to support the country office teams and involves the development of a mapping of Action Against Hunger (ACF) projects and resources in the country offices, participation in the organization of global trainings on protection and gender, as well as active contribution to the creation of documents and reports to meet ACF and ACFIN commitments.
More specifically, your missions are as follows:
Ø Support countries in integrating gender, protection and inclusion (GPI) into the project cycle:
– support for the implementation of GPI analyses carried out by country offices, (Development/adaptation of tools, collection of primary and secondary data, support in data analysis and review of reports)
– support for the drafting of project proposals from country offices to integrate a GPI dimension
Ø Support the organization of training and/or webinars on protection and gender issues
Ø Support the certification of countries on minimum gender standards: Support/training of countries on standards and verification of documents
Ø Contribute to the capitalization of good practices developed in Country Offices with Gender and Protection Referents;
Ø Contribute to the sharing of information between Country Offices by supporting the establishment of communities of good practice alongside Gender and Protection Referents
Ø Actively contribute to internal and external coordination meetings and produce reports;
Ø Support the preparation of deadlines, seminars, internal and external events;
Ø Contribute to the creation of a technical resource library at SharePoint (NHF) of the Service.
Participate in the organization and animation of GPI training in universities or schools in Lyon and the surrounding area if necessary.

I am preparing a Master 2 in gender, international law, social sciences or international relations. In this sense, I have knowledge in protection and gender standards at the international level, and project management. Knowledge of institutional donors is a plus.
Professional English practice is required.
Conditions of employment
Mandatory Condition: Have an internship agreement issued by a French school.
Duration of the internship: 6 months – Place of work: Montreuil (93)
Possible travel: Rhône-Alpes (69)
Internship compensated at the level of the minimum legal hourly compensation (base of 35 hours/week)
21 days of RTT (prorated to the time of presence in the organization)
Days of absence for exam, university research, etc.
Transport: 50% coverage of the package between home and the workplace
Meal vouchers: 60% coverage by the association for a value of 8 euros
175 euros/year (social works) and reduction on cinema tickets
