Its charter of humanitarian principals- independence, neutrality, non-discrimination, free and direct access to victims, professionalism, transparency – has been part of its identity for more than 40 years. Its mission is to save lives by eliminating hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of under-nutrition, particularly during and after emergency situations linked to conflicts or natural disasters. RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the supervision of the Country Director, your main mission will be to define the strategies and coordinate the activities of Action Contre la Faim in the fields of Nutrition and Health in both Sierra Leone and Liberia:
More precisely, you will have to:
– Design, develop and evaluate actions in the field of Health and Nutrition in the mission
– Monitor and coordinate health and nutrition programs in the mission
– Develop and launch programs in collaboration with governmental and local agencies
– Represent Action Against Hunger and its positioning in the Health and Nutrition sector
– Manage the Health and Nutrition team in capital and support technically the Nutrition and Health Program Managers
REQUESTED PROFILE
You hold a Masters’ degree in Health/Public health, or similar studies with at least 5 years of experience managing health and nutrition porgrammes, in both emergency and development contexts, preferably with INGOs.
You are recongnised for your strong analytical skills and are familiar with the standards, key assessment methodologies, program designs, and reporting activities in the field of nutrition and health.
You also have a proven experience in humanitarian coordination with host governments, INGOs and National civil society organizations.
Proven managerial skills with a sound experience in team management and staff capacity develoment is essential for this position.
In order to work in this context, you additionaly need to be organised, flexible, have good communication skills, with a capacity to overcome stress.
Languages: You are fluent in English (written, spoken, read)
SPECIFIC CONDITIONS / SALARY
This position is open to both national and international candidates.
For international candidates:
– 12 months fixed term contract under French legislation
– Monthly gross salary from 2450EUR to 2800EUR upon experience
– Monthly per diem and living allowance: 531EUR net, field paid
– Monthly country allowance: 150EUR
– 16% of the gross monthly salary for pension insurance reimbursement for non-French citizens
– Transportation and accommodation: Coverage of transportation costs and guest house
– Medical coverage: coverage of health contributions (CFE + complementary health) and repatriation insurance
– Leaves and RnR: 25 days of paid leaves per year, 20 RnR per year and 215 EUR at each RnR period

For National Candidates:
– 12 months fixed term contract under Sierra Leonean legislation
– Monthly basic salary from 15,714,060 SLL to 18,669,960 SLL upon experience
– 10% of the monthly basic salary for housing allowance
– 10% of the monthly basic salary for transportation allowance
– 12% of the annual basic salary for annual leave allowance
– Medical Coverage, including spouse, and 3 dependents at a value of 8,000,000 SLL per year
