In February 2023, the board of directors committed to protecting the right to abortion and strengthening the operational capacity of Médecins du Monde on the subject of abortion, with the ambition of establishing a offers abortion on all projects within five years. These decisions are a continuation of the association’s historic commitment to the defense of sexual and reproductive rights and health, and more particularly the right to abortion. To ensure the implementation of this ambition, the association has set up a working group which aims to support the reflection, the implementation, the strengthening of internal skills with a view to ensuring an abortion offer throughout projects.

JOB DESCRIPTION :

Under the responsibility of the Health & Advocacy Director, your mission is to coordinate and mobilize multidisciplinary actors, resource people and various skills internally in order to support the effective translation of the ambition set by the board of directors. of an offer of abortion on the projects within five years. More specifically, you support the increase in skills of teams, or even partners, and monitor the strengthening of the operational response for an effective abortion service offer that can be adapted according to the context of each country of intervention.

Your main responsibilities are:

Carrying out information collection and monitoring issues, existing initiatives and possible alliances

  • Analyze and synthesize the contexts, issues and stakeholders in the field
  • Identify constraints and needs
  • Ensure contextual, legal and security monitoring on the subject

Managing the implementation of objectives and mobilizing resource people and various skills internally

  • Mobilize and lead all the actors involved so that they participate in the general reflection and are a force for proposals
  • Develop an action plan, ensure its implementation and monitoring to gradually strengthen capacities and means
  • Issue opinions on the directions and priorities to be given
  • Manage the production and implementation of tools/guides/training modules
  • Lead discussions on the needs of the field and the organization of the specific support necessary depending on the contexts, difficulties and opportunities
  • Provide adapted and reinforced support to operational teams (including in the field) to guarantee quality implementation and the capitalization of good practices
  • Contribute to existing advocacy strategies

Monitoring, reporting and accountability

  • Define indicators for monitoring the implementation of the abortion ambition
  • Manage the narrative reporting process on progress in the implementation of the abortion offer

Alliance development

  • Contribute to the implementation of the network’s commitments and support the network in the implementation of these commitments
  • Analyze stakeholders and potential partnerships
  • Represent the association in the relevant bodies of the Médecins du Monde network
  • Develop links with other NGOs and potential partners

Information and internal communication

  • Mobilize widely internally on the subject
  • Share, capitalize, disseminate and explain the information and issues of the file to the stakeholders concerned in order to unite around the project
  • Communicate and mobilize around internal events
  • Write and format reports, notes or other documents
  • Communicate regularly and appropriately on the main advances

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Status: Employee

Contract: Fixed-term contract (18 months)

Gross monthly salary of 3,571 euros
Position status: manager
Equivalent 13th month paid in 2 installments – from 6 months of effective work seniority
Mutual (60% participation of MdM and 40 % of the employee)
22.5 RTT / year
5 weeks of paid leave / year
Restaurant vouchers worth 9.00 euros (participation up to 60% of MdM)
Reimbursement of public transport ticket at 50%
Teleworking agreement subject to eligibility of your position: 110 days of teleworking per year (i.e. on average 2.5 days of teleworking per week) with the obligation to work face-to-face at least 5 days per month

REQUIRED PROFILE :

Higher education (BAC+5), medical or paramedical training is a real asset.
At least 5 years of experience in the coordination of humanitarian programs, including the implementation of an abortion offer
Field experience in NGO, knowledge / experience on SRHR and more particularly expertise in the implementation of an abortion offer abortion in different contexts
Knowledge of networks of actors on the theme and ability to analyze the political environment and national and international associative/inter-associative issues
Significant experience in project management
Experience in complex security contexts
Ability to write, present and synthesize documents
Teaching skills and ease in oral communication
Relational skills, diplomacy, rigor, spirit of synthesis.
Ability to lead a team and work with multidisciplinary players.
Languages: fluent English and French
