POSITION SUMMARY:
HIAS seeks an Accounts Payable Associate to maintain accounting records and process invoices. The Accounts Payable Associate maintains accurate database/records on all financial transactions and disbursements, and ensures these are properly coded.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Manages financial transactional activity for accounts payable, ensuring that payables are processed and recorded both timely and accurately in accordance with organization policies and GAAP.
- Ensures that payments are supported by proper approval.
- Reviews invoices in Anybill.
- Maintains and assists in the development of policies and procedures for accounts payable processes.
- Reviews designation of 1099 consultants and verifies supporting information is available.
- Processes the Search and Debarment of new vendors.
- Maintains the vendor file.
- Sets up new cardholders in Center Suite.
- Provides support to cardholders for expense reports.
- Ensures that credit card expense reports are submitted on time and accurately.
- Records credit card expenses in General Ledger.
- Reconciles credit cards monthly.
- Assists on special projects as assigned.
- Assists in the creation and implementation of process improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting, with experience in accounts payable and/or accounts receivable preferred.
- Knowledge and application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Experience with credit card management and purchasing application systems, such as Anybill.
- Experience with accounting systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Ability to deliver high-quality results in a timely manner.
- Detail-oriented.
