OFFER SUMMARY

Under the responsibility of the regional PCV manager, the cooperating person will carry out their mandate with the partner organization to ensure the implementation of individual and organizational capacity building activities within the framework of the voluntary cooperation program. The volunteer advisor will be required to advise, assist and technically support the team of the partner organization in their reflections and work surrounding monitoring, evaluation and learning. The person holding the position also contributes to the development of reports and communication articles related to the activities developed and implemented during their mandate.

RESPONSIBILITIES*:

  • Ensure the completion of PCV program implementation activities and the establishment of relationships of trust with the partner organization;
  • Support members of the partner organization in the implementation and/or review of institutional monitoring, evaluation and learning tools and methods;
  • Identify with the organization’s managers the targets and key performance indicators for relevant projects, programs or services;
  • Equip members of the partner organization to evaluate performance targets and indicators;
  • Train and support members of the organization in monitoring, evaluation and learning processes and methodologies in connection with their respective department or sector;
  • Support the organization in activities related to the Social Laboratory;
  • Participate in the initial mapping of actors and updating the profile of the child protection system in the country of intervention;
  • Write progress reports on the activities implemented in collaboration with the partner organization;
  • Write articles on the work carried out and on the experience of voluntary cooperation;

*The responsibilities are given as an example and may differ from the developed mandate that will be proposed to the candidate. All mandates are developed with partners on the basis of expressed needs.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Have Canadian residence or nationality.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree in monitoring, evaluation or other relevant field;
  • Minimum of 2 years of significant work experience in functions related to monitoring, evaluation and learning;
  • In-depth knowledge of results-based management;
  • Mastery of French, both written and spoken. The person must be able to write, revise, comment on and correct texts in French and, for mandates in Central and South America, mastery of Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training, and provide recommendations;
  • Ability to analyze, organize and synthesize;
  • Mastery of new information technologies;
  • Great ability to work in a team while being autonomous in one’s work;
  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office 2010 suite (particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of security measures in international cooperation;
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences and great adaptation skills;
  • Knowledge of international development issues;
