About Amal Healing & Advocacy Center

Amal Healing & Advocacy Center (AHAC) is a women-led organization that specialized in empowering women, who have experienced psychological symptoms resulting from social and sexual violence within their family or community.

AHAC seeks to contribute to creating a change in the status of women in Syrian society and to support them in becoming more aware of their rights and opportunities.

The motivation to start the organization was led by the desire to contribute to building a Syrian society that is based on fair and equal human rights based in an independent civil state.

The organization was founded in 2014 in Antakya, Turkey, which is located near the Syrian-Turkish border, and strives to respond to the needs of Syrian refugee women, survivors of violence in particular.

Job Details:

The AHAC team is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented advocacy campaign coordinator to support an AHAC advocacy campaign under the #Aswatuna Project in Support of Families of Missing and Detained Survivors.

The Campaign Coordinator will provide the necessary support throughout the campaign, with a focus on assisting the Program Manager in implementing operational procedures and providing the technical assistance needed by the Center to implement the planned campaign programs and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical support to the center’s management regarding campaign details.
  • Coordinate with the management team and media campaign team on event scheduling, publication releases, and details of other campaign activities.
  • Contribute to the development of campaign ideas directed through social media on various platforms.
  • Contribute to the production of briefing materials and press releases in coordination with the campaign team and project management.
  • Work to integrate campaign plans and themes into all relevant events and products across the United Nations and the broader humanitarian community.
  • Contribute to the development of messages raised with the main target groups to obtain support and maximize the impact of promotional goals.
  • Contribute to the coordination and production of a variety of information products (including audio/visual communications) needed and relevant to the project’s objectives and campaign.
  • Provides advice and expertise on advocacy and awareness issues, methods and approaches to achieve campaign objectives.
  • Participate in drafting campaign communications and advocacy materials, including newsletters, reports, promotional and other materials.
  • Work closely with the campaign team to ensure advocacy materials are developed, timely produced, and appropriate to the needs of the panel and campaign goals.
  • Accurately identifying the campaign objectives and messages according to each target audience.
  • Follow up on the implementation of the advocacy campaign action plan in cooperation with partners, and ensure that the plan matches the strategic objectives of the project.
  • Work closely with the campaign team to coordinate the release of materials, social media actions, and ongoing efforts to build support and awareness of campaign principles.
  • Provide editorial and production assistance and coordination for communications projects, outreach, and products, including writing, copyediting, formatting, proofreading, and basic design
  • Draft, edit, and format advocacy materials such as talking points for meetings, briefs, and reports for distribution to key partners.
  • Other duties and tasks assigned related to research, feedback reports, and advocacy.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • University degree in Social Sciences or another relevant field;
  • At least 3-4 years of working experience in a similar position with a local or International NGO;
  • Be able to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities;
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • Very good English written communications skills including the ability to prepare reports.
