UKHIH is opening a two-stage procurement process for a research and development initiative. Interest is open for potential service provider(s) to submit a pre-qualification questionnaire to express interest in the work. Selected provider(s) will then be invited to submit a full proposal. The deadline for the submission of pre-qualification questionnaires is 23:59 on 4th October 2023.

Overview
We are launching ‘AI Solutions for Humanitarian Challenges’, a joint initiative by the UKHIH and Elrha’s Humanitarian Innovation Fund (HIF) to support the uptake of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the humanitarian sector.
The initiative will deliver on an integrated programme of funding, collaborative partnerships, capacity building, interdisciplinary research and development, stakeholder mapping, knowledge sharing, and advocacy, with a view to demonstrating and informing effective ways forward for the humanitarian sector.
This competitive procurement focuses on the UKHIH-led discrete components of the initiative. This includes the delivery of foundational research and providing technical expertise to a new cohort of HIF grantees.
Selection process
Prospective service provider(s) will be evaluated based on the information requested in the pre-qualification questionnaire. Shortlisted provider(s) will be notified and invited to submit a full proposal in line with the published timeline.
