The Role

The AIDA Communication Officer under the supervision of the AIDA Director, support the AIDA Policy & Advocacy Lead, the AIDA Gaza & West Bank Operations Coordinators, to enable the effective and efficient working of the AIDA Secretariat, as well as the achievement of AIDA’s strategic objectives. With over 80 AIDA organizational members, the AIDA Communications Officer is responsible for carrying out external and internal communications in addition to information management tasks.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has:

  • University degree in Communications, Media, Social Sciences, or related field;
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably with an NGO or UN agency;
  • Acquainted to the international media scene in the region;
  • Knowledge in mass-media and social media strategies, and best industry practices;
  • Background that includes knowledge of humanitarian and development sector trends in Palestine;
  • Fluency in English and Arabic language, both written and verbal;
  • Outstanding written and oral communications skills;
  • Demonstrated ICT skills, particularly MS Office and various social media applications;
  • Personal attributes & behavioural competencies
  • Eager to learn and grow
  • Independent, self-driven and proactive
  • Ability to understand and strategically use information;
  • Creative, innovative, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work under pressure, to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to meet tight deadlines;
  • Excellent work ethic

Desirable

  • Advanced University in a relevant field;
  • Good knowledge of the INGO sector, preferably in Palestine;
  • Working command of French and/or Hebrew;
  • Graphic design skills;
  • Previous experience in INGO Fora and/or INGO Coordination;
  • Information management or data entry experience preferred;

What we offer

The employee will be contracted by Oxfam with a competitive, fair and comprehensive pay and benefits package that is justifiable to our donors. Basic salary starts as 126,944 ILS gross per annum, for a 40-hour contract. Salary offered will be subject to funding available and competences.
