Since the transformation of societies is primarily the responsibility of local actors, its activities aim to strengthen their capacity for action and their influence.
Thus, FIDH brings together nearly 200 national human rights associations active in more than 115 countries. FIDH has its headquarters in Paris. The International Secretariat teams are present in Africa, Latin America, Asia and Europe. They are structured into an Operations and Programmes Department and an Advocacy Department as well as Support Departments (Communication, Finance and Administration, Partnerships and Development, Human Resources).
We are recruiting: AN IT TECHNICIAN NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR – Full-time fixed-term contract 12 months
Main missions and responsibilities
Supervised by the IT Manager and the Deputy IT Manager, the IT technician network administrator is responsible for user support, management of servers and workstations as well as all FIDH communication and productivity tools.
His/her main missions are:
A / Manage the IT equipment (computers, printers, and small equipment)/office automation (photocopiers)/helpdesk
- Provide assistance to users for the proper functioning of their fixed or mobile workstations,
- Participate in the development of fleet maintenance and monitoring procedures
- Analyze and resolve incidents of all kinds (software and hardware) affecting the information system and users
- Train and support users
- Participate in writing guides and documentation for users
B / Manage telecommunications networks and systems
- Participate in defining needs, manage interconnections between systems and networks (hardware and software), administer and optimize servers
- Contribute to the development of documentation regarding server security
- Ensure backups and accessibility of stored data (back-up/mirroring).
- Contribute to the creation of collaborative work tools and suggest developments
- Ensure the accessibility and availability of means of communication, and more particularly the support of wide area networks and telephony aspects (data and voice transmission)
- Contribute to the management of fixed and mobile telephony
C / Contribute to securing FIDH information systems
- Contribute to monitoring the security policy with the evaluation, analysis of risks and their impacts
- Update security best practice guides
- Provide user training in IT security
D / Monitor relationships with external suppliers and service providers
- Contribute to the definition of specifications and quotes
- Participate in the choice of service providers and suppliers
- Track the progress of projects, orders
- Ensure receipt of work, purchases
E / Within the framework of specific equipment programs for member organizations
- Ensure the purchase of materials and their delivery
- Coordinate the installation of IT equipment
- Train users and advise organizations on data security
F / Ensure technological monitoring and propose developments
G / Inventory and standardize
- Update and maintain inventory of all IT resources
- Standardize and document deployed configurations
- Automate configuration deployment with DevOps (Ansible)
H / Ensure regular reporting on all of its activities
I / Manage projects
Required profile
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
- Availability and responsiveness (user support)
- Being comfortable in a heterogeneous environment
- Ability to hold a technical conversation in English
- Comfortable with open source solutions
- Sensitive to security issues
- Rigor (reporting and interventions)

Conditions of employment
- Full-time fixed-term contract – 12 months – 39 hours/week
- Position based in Paris 11th – You will be working from the FIDH office in Paris, France. FIDH recognises that flexible working arrangements are important for work-life balance, and offers the possibility to work from home up to 80% with a minimum of 4 days of face-to-face time per month
- Remuneration: €40,000 gross per year over 13 months

- Holidays and RTT: 25 days of paid holiday per year worked, 24 days of RTT per year.
