Overview of Position

  • Our Client is an operational arm of the United Nations, supporting the successful implementation of its partners’ peacebuilding, humanitarian and development projects around the world. Our mission is to help people build better lives and countries achieve sustainable development.
  • Our Client areas of expertise cover infrastructure, procurement, project management, financial management and human resources.
  • The translator will provide support to the communications team to translate documents and visibility materials as well as proof reading and linguistic editing for our client website.
  • The main objective of this TOR is to hire a short-term Translator who shall translate and proofread different documents from English to Arabic or vice versa under several projects. Translator shall work under Our Client Communications Officer to achieve the objective and the scope of the assignment.

Role Objectives Description of Responsibilities

  • Create animations, motion graphics and other visual design products to support our client video products and other communications work.
  • Provides high-quality animations and visual design products
  • Creation of animated video products that tell stories about our client and its work both externally and internally, and for a variety of platforms and audiences.
  • Creation of animated infographics and motion graphics to help convey messages and complex ideas and data in an engaging way.
  • Creation of different language versions ( Arabic – English ) of animations and video products using translations provided by our client.
  • Development of scripts or creative concepts for animations as and when requested.
  • Management of deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of final edited animations and video products, including project files and assets in accordance with timelines agreed at the start of the project.
  • Provision of all necessary software and editing equipment to perform assignments.
  • Follows branding guidelines to ensure animations and video products are reflective of the fonts, colours, logo requirements and overall style of our client visual products.
  • Implements changes based on feedback from our client teams in accordance with agreed timelines
  • The key results will have an impact on the overall ability of our client to communicate and promote its work visually and in an engaging manner both on its website and social media channels and as part of longer format videos

Further Information

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field with 1 year of experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in animation or related fields.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills of Adobe After Effects, and other editing and animation tools are required;
  • Experience in working with the G-Suite platform including Google Drive, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides is desired
  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
