Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of the position is to provide M365 technical support within the Unite Digital Workplace Services Unit (DSDW), including supporting the team on the implementation and ongoing support of M365 services for UNICC and its clients.

Objectives of the Programme:

The objective of the Centre is to provide trusted ICT services and digital business solutions to its Clients and Partner Organizations.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The incumbent will work under the direct supervision and guidance of the Head of Customer IT Resilience Team (OPBR) and Chief, Business Solutions Section (OPB) within the Operations Division (OP) and in close collaboration with the ADB IT technical teams. The incumbent could be requested to do any others tasks of similar level in related fields.

Production Support:

  • Provide production support for ADB applications, ensuring high availability and minimal downtime

Troubleshooting and Incident Management:

  • Troubleshoot technical issues, adhering to ITIL best practices
  • Support incident and problem management, including participation in governance processes, such as the Change Advisory Board (CAB)

Lifecycle Maintenance:

  • Support the full lifecycle maintenance of relevant equipment and processes within your domain

Anomaly Detection and Monitoring:

  • Monitor the systems for anomalies and proactively escalate issues as needed to maintain system integrity

Project Support:

  • Act as a technical member providing support for various projects within the IT landscape

Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity:

  • Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of disaster recovery procedures
  • Under guidance, incorporate changes approved by the CAB into the procedures
  • Participate in the execution of recovery procedures and provide post-recovery support as needed

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams within the organization to achieve common goals and resolve technical challenges

Documentation and Best Practices:

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation in line with industry best practices
  • Stay informed about and apply knowledge of cloud computing technology
  • Ensure familiarity with the organization’s business continuity framework

Recruitment Profile

Experience and Skills required:

Essential:

  • At least eight (8) years of relevant hands-on experience in application interface and application integration, including experience in Enterprise Service Bus, API Gateway and building REST API on SOA
  • A completed university degree from an accredited institution will be counted towards the minimum work experience requirements
  • Familiarity with web service specifications (REST or SOAP) and Enterprise Service Bus components and design patterns
  • Familiarity with Internet protocols and standards (set forth by bodies like IETF), and their practical uses
  • Proven experience in IT support and system resilience roles
  • Good troubleshooting skills and knowledge of ITIL best practices
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technology

Education*:

Essential:

  • Successful completion of secondary school education or its equivalent, supplemented by specialized training in IT

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with ITIL best practices
  • Knowledge/certification in cloud computing technology (Azure)
  • Familiarity with business continuity framework

Languages:

  • English: Expert knowledge is required
  • Knowledge of the local language of the Duty Station is an advantage

Eligibility:

This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule 4.4 of the United Nations Staff Rules. All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited in the country or within commuting distance of each office, irrespective of their nationality and of the length of time they may have been in the country. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.

Compensation:

Annual Salary Estimation (net of tax at single rate):

  • Valencia: EUR 44,839
