CONTEXT:
In response to needs and as part of its technical expertise, HI has been operating in the DRC since 1995 in numerous sectors and is a recognized player in humanitarian assistance and the logistics field.

  • In Kinshasa, multi-year development projects are being implemented on the themes of Physical and Functional Rehabilitation, Maternal and Child Health, Inclusive Education and Inclusive Governance.
  • In Kasai and Kasai Central, initially engaged in development activities, HI has intervened since the 2016 crisis on Food Security projects (Cash method then support for agricultural production) and is currently involved in two economic inclusion and inclusive education projects.

In North Kivu, to date, the Goma base is implementing 6 projects

YOUR MISSION:
Based in Goma and under the responsibility of the Technical Head of Program, you, as a regional technical field specialist, contribute to the implementation of the mandate and ten-year strategy of Humanity & Inclusion for the West Africa region. You ensure optimal quality and impact of RVA projects implemented in the region, through a delegation system with appropriate control mechanisms. You contribute to sound management and successful operation of the global organization, through paradigm shifts.

You will work closely with the country team members and the technical resources at headquarters. In addition, you are expected to work closely with the RVA management at headquarters in a spirit of learning and sharing good practices. You will ensure that the integrated RVA model is effectively deployed and that sectors and projects are in synergy.

This position requires frequent travel within the sub-region to HI’s 7 priority intervention countries.

To do this, your missions are as follows:

Responsibility 1: Expertise

  • You contribute to regional strategies in line with global strategies and provide sectoral technical contributions to the operational strategies of the programme within its scope and in its sector;
  • You guarantee technical support for projects in accordance with global technical standards and frameworks within its sectoral scope.
  • You ensure technical learning from projects: Contribute to the capitalization of projects and ensure technical learning from projects in its sectoral scope
  • You ensure the control and monitoring of the technical quality and relevance of HI activities within the programs within its scope.
  • You ensure that the technical proposal complies with nexus issues

Responsibility 2: Influence

  • You contribute to the local external prestige and influence of HI’s expertise
  • You represent HI’s technical expertise in relevant local networks
  • You contribute to advocacy on specific themes in line with global advocacy priorities
  • You contribute to communication messages at the local level in line with global communication priorities

Responsibility 3: Development of the social mission

  • You ensure the development of major opportunities or new projects within your sector scope
  • You contribute to the analysis of the context within its sectoral scope
  • Contributes to the design and writing of new projects, and if requested, in other countries within the geographical division
  • You identify and transform major opportunities within its scope
  • You identify and develop local/consortium partnerships with NGOs, institutions, companies on technical priorities or important themes in the Programme

Responsibility 4: You contribute to supporting or implementing emergency preparedness actions for programs and, during an emergency, adapt your working methods to contribute to an effective humanitarian response from HI

YOUR PROFILE:

  • You have at least 5 years of professional experience in project management/technical support in RVA in humanitarian areas
  • You have knowledge in the field of disability and knowledge of international human rights frameworks
  • You demonstrate strong writing and communication skills in French and English

  • 2-month International Contract starting February 2025
  • The international contract provides social coverage adapted to everyone’s needs:
    • Unemployment insurance collected only for EU nationals;
    • Retirement insurance;
    • Health coverage, repatriation, and welfare covered by HI and the employee;
  • Salary : from €2,750 gross/month; depending on professional experience;
  • Per diem : €569.65/month – paid in local currency in the field;
  • Hardship: 250 net/month depending on location of the position
  • Paid leave : 25 days per year;
  • R&R : depending on the level of the mission and therefore depending on the location of the position: Level 1: 1 day per month / Level 2: 5 days every 8 weeks
  • Position: depending on the location of the position, may be unaccompanied
  • Accommodation: collective supported by HI;
  • If you are a resident in the country: local package.
