Know our team:
The Asia Portfolio Manager, Child Survival, will work with a cross-functional team of internal resources in HQ and Asia, gathering and leveraging NI’s existing knowledge and expertise from various units to ensure projects are delivered on time, on scope and on budget. You will collaborate with your counterpart in Africa – the Africa Director Child Survival – on programmatic and technical learning opportunities, and for grant management purposes for relevant cross-regional projects.
About you:
You will have a Master’s Degree in public health, nutrition, international development, or a similar field with a minimum of 7 years’ experience managing large, complex, development programs in an international NGO/UN agency (or similar) that spans multiple geographies in Asia. You will come with prior experience of working with diverse donors in the public health/nutrition sector in Asia; understanding of health systems.
You will have a superior written and spoken English skills, having excellent articulation to put together complex documents that clearly demonstrates NI’s work. Fluency in other languages spoken in the Asia region is a considerable advantage.
About the role:
The Asia Portfolio Manager (APM), Child Survival will be responsible for supporting the Global Portfolio Director (GPD), Child Survival, in the grant management of designated projects within the Vitamin A, ORS/Zinc and IYCN portfolios in Asia. You will work closely with Asia country teams and technical staff within the Global Technical Services (GTS) unit to ensure a high level of coordination. You will support the GPD Child Survival where there are opportunities to grow and expand funding in these programmatic areas in the Asia region. You will ensure all projects under your designation are managed effectively and delivered according to their contractual obligations.
You will
- Participate in the development/ updating of the VAS/ Child Survival strategy area that builds on NI’s extensive experience and learning and reflects opportunities in the current funding landscape.
- Put in place effective mechanisms to ensure quality implementation and implementation of a set of projects within a portfolio, in collaboration with the GPD and other Program Operations colleagues in HQ, the region and in countries of operation and according to NI policies and ways of working.
- Work with regional and country colleagues, ensure all grants allocated to the APM portfolio (whether VAS, ORS/Zinc/ IYCN) have clear annual plans, activity plans and budgets and are implemented on time and to a high quality.
- Ensure that all donor, technical and financial reports are completed in a timely fashion to a quality that meets NI monitoring and reporting standards.
- Represent projects within your portfolio at partners/consortium meetings.
- Work closely with Business Development and the GPD Child Survival, support the development of project proposals.
