Asset Management Specialist At Joint Aid Management

JAM International is a South African founded international humanitarian relief and development organization with extensive experience in relief and sustainable development in five African countries: South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Rwanda, and South Sudan. Our programs focus on food security, nutritional intervention, assistance to orphans and vulnerable children, the provision of water and delivery of sanitation and health training, skills development, and small and large-scale agricultural development and economic development projects.

In South Sudan JAM is active in Twic East, Bor, Pibor, Boma, Bentiu, Aweil, Kuajok and Wunrok

Purpose of the assignment

JAM currently is currently recording its assets using the Assetzure machine. This record is then used to update and maintain the fixed asset register throughout the country offices. The existing asset register currently does not tally with the figures for fixed assets sitting on the balance sheet. JAM South Sudan would like to engage the service of an Asset Management Specialist to support the reconciliation of the asset register with the balances on the balance sheet and ultimately reflect the correct position of the country’s assets

Scope of work

  1. Initial meeting with both finance IT, and admin. And finance department to gain an understanding
  2. Obtain the asset ledger as per the current balance sheet from finance.
  3. Obtain asset register from IT as per the Assetzure corresponding to the period on the ledger.
  4. Creating a new clean asset register with an agreed format reconciling with the balance sheet.
  5. Presentation of the completed task to the SMT for final approval

Expected deliverables

1. A detailed fixed asset reconciliation report for the completed activities.

2. Suggested recognitions/write-off of assets in the balance sheet to ensure alignment.

3. Reconstructed detailed asset registers aligned with the balance sheet figures.

Experience profile

· University Bachelor’s degree in relevant field – B com, Finance, Business

· Proven track record in the management of institutional assets and fixed asset registers reconciling to the management accounts.

· A full understanding of GAAP especially IAS16-Property Plant and Equipment regarding assets.

· Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in writing and produce clear, correct, and precise schedules and reports

Payment terms

Payment will be effected in three installments in lined to the deliverables at the rate of 30% at the end of month one: 30% at the end of month two and 40% upon completion of the assignment.

NB: The Asset Management Specialist (MS) payment will be subjected to PIT upon payment as per the laws of South Sudan.
