Job Description Details:

Job objective:

Providing technical support to the supervising engineer in following up on the implementation of school restoration works according to the technical conditions and specifications agreed upon with the contractor, while ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards and the specified timetable.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

Field follow-up:

  • Field supervision of daily restoration work to ensure its implementation in accordance with the technical specifications in the terms of reference.
  • Ensure that the contractor adheres to the approved schedule and address any delays.
  • Monitoring and controlling the quality of materials used, ensuring their compliance with specifications and ensuring adherence to the required quantities.
  • Receiving completed works, ensuring that they comply with the technical specifications, and preparing final receipt reports.

Reporting and documentation:

  • Documenting work stages, daily achievements, and problems that may face implementation (photos, bills of quantities).
  • Preparing periodic reports on the progress of work and submitting them to the supervising engineer.
  • Maintain and archive all technical documents and drawings related to the project.

Coordination and communication:

  • Coordination between the contractor and the supervising engineer to resolve any technical or administrative problems that may face implementation.
  • Coordination and communication with relevant authorities to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensure that the principles of gender equality and social inclusion are integrated into project activities and work environment practices, while respecting and promoting diversity in the workplace.
  • Providing comments and suggestions to the supervising engineer regarding project implementation and contributing to problem solving.
  • Required academic qualification:
  • Civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical, engineering institute degree or equivalent

Required technical qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in construction, renovation, or construction project management.
  • Previous experience working with humanitarian organizations of at least two years.
  • Knowledge and experience in using AutoCAD engineering software
  • Proficiency in computer programs and Microsoft Office programs

Required skills:

  • Intermediate level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
  • Strong communication skills to deal with field teams and contractors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
  • Accuracy in reviewing technical details and reports.
  • Extensive knowledge of technical specifications, building materials, quality standards and occupational health and safety regulations.
