Audit and Risk Committee Member (0849)
Independent Audit & Risk Committee Members
OXFAM Great Britain
SHAPING A STRONGER OXFAM FOR A RADICALLY BETTER WORLD
Oxfam is a global movement of millions of people who share the belief that, in a world rich in resources, poverty isn’t inevitable. Oxfam GB has launched a new strategy working for a world where everyone has the power to thrive, not just survive, and tackling the biggest challenges that perpetuate poverty. We’re radically shifting resources and power to those we are here to serve – and ensuring that everything we do is safe, feminist and anti-racist.
Oxfam GB is recruiting for two new independent members to join our Board’s Audit & Risk Committee. Most importantly you’ll have a commitment to our vision and values. One member will bring relevant senior management or practitioner expertise in finance and audit, ideally as a qualified accountant. The other will have relevant senior management or practitioner expertise in using risk management for the best interests of an organisation and its stakeholders, with demonstrable experience in one or more of Oxfam’s key risk areas.
You’ll be a full member of the Committee and play an influential and valuable role in support of the delivery of Oxfam’s radical new agenda, without having the fiduciary responsibilities of being a Trustee. In turn, you will commit some 10 days per year. Whilst this is an unpaid role, you will receive expenses for attendance at Committee meetings and associated activities.
Please read more about the roles online and, if you’d like to discuss this, you can talk with our Chief Financial Officer. If you’re interested, please apply – we really want to hear from you. For more information and to apply, go to www.oxfam.org.uk/what-we-do/about-us/working-at-oxfam-gb, using reference 0849. Applications are required by 11:59pm GMT 22 October 2021. Interviews will be held online on 15 November.
Everyone having access to our application process is very important to us, so if you’re unable to submit your application online please contact us: recruitmentteam@oxfam.org.uk
