Founded in 1922, DanChurchAid (DCA) is a Danish rights-based non-governmental organization. Established in CAR since 2015, DCA provides assistance to the most deprived communities in conflict and post-conflict situations through its Humanitarian Action Program “Safer Communities”: education on the risks of Small Arms and Light Weapons (SALW). ), Remnants and Explosives of War (REG); Reduction of Armed Violence (RVA) and peacebuilding & Psychosocial Support, Income Generating Activities (AGR); distribution of non-food and household goods (NFI), conditional and unconditional Cash (food coupons, etc.), distribution of seeds and tools, support to Civil Society organizations for their involvement in Security Sector Reform (RSS). The DCA Program in CAR is funded by DANIDA, the United Nations Peacebuilding Fund, Echo, the European Union; other financing is currently being negotiated.

DCA is looking for 01 experienced base manager for the management of the Sibut base.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

As a member of management, the Base Head will actively participate in securing additional funds and implementing pioneering initiatives by adopting DCA’s triple humanitarian – development and peace approach to respond to immediate humanitarian needs, while identifying opportunities to respond to the longer-term wishes and aspirations of communities.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Base Manager of the DCA office in Sibut will be expected to work within the framework of DCA’s core values, promoting the ethics, values ​​and mission of the organization by:

– Ensuring liaison between the programs and the staff under his responsibility in order to guarantee effective and efficient communication within the Sibut office and the entire organization.

– Ensuring the application and compliance of all DCA policies and procedures within the office and the team.

– Representing, facilitating and participating in meetings, networks, seminars and conferences beneficial to the DCA organization in their working jurisdiction

The Sibut Base Manager must:

Guarantee monitoring and effective and efficient coordination between projects implemented in its work area, including undertaking field visits to supervise activities.

Guarantee the proper functioning and operationalization of project activities in your work area in collaboration with sector managers in Bangui. In particular with regard to:

Coordination and management of supplies and purchasing, vehicle fleet management and that of goods and stocks in collaboration with the Prolog Manager.

Management of staff security including their movements in the field in collaboration with the security officer

Management of financial resources available at grassroots level in collaboration with the Bangui finance team

Administration and management of personnel dependent on the base in collaboration with the head of administration and human resources based in Bangui

Strategic and operational office management including the coordination and management of field visits in collaboration with the Country Director and members of Country Office Management.

Represent DCA in the Kemo prefecture if possible and guarantee its effective participation in all coordination meetings, networks, working groups.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) in law, sociology, peacebuilding, development or other suitable field
  • Have proven leadership experience
  • Fluent French and Sango with great writing skills
  • Experience working with international organizations and in the same field.
  • Experience with projects integrating peacebuilding and protection, livelihoods, advocacy, professional training is an asset
  • Experience working with national and international organizations required;
  • Good knowledge of the Central African Republic;
  • Be able to work in a team;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Be of Central African nationality.
