Job Purpose:
The Information Management (IM) Associate is one of the core Food Security Sector (FSS) Coordination team members and plays a vital role in collecting, analyzing, and sharing information that is important for the sector stakeholders to make informed, evidence based and strategic decisions on: Food security needs and geographic areas of affected populations; Location and activity of Food Security actors; Key gaps in activity/program coverage and response overlaps; Existing capacity (human, material, financial) to be utilized in support of the identified response needs; Monitoring of the responses.
The incumbent will be reporting to the Food Security Sector Coordinator (FSS-CC) and responds to the FSS Membership’s needs for information. The FSS IMO is responsible for the day-to-day management of the FSS IM Tool, under the technical guidance and support of the Information Management (IM) team at the Global FSC and in coordination with the IM Working Group in Lebanon. The incumbent needs to be able to liaise and communicate with a wide range of stakeholders and acts as a ‘bridge’ between food security decision makers and technical information management (IM) staff.
Key Responsibilities (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Within delegated authority and under the direct supervision of the Food Security Sector Coordinator (FSS-CC), the incumbent will perform the following tasks:
- Support the FSS-CC in preparation of needs overviews, response plans, sector log frame, PiNs and targets.
- Support the FSC-CC in logistical arrangements and organization for the IPC analysis.
- Monitor of FSS partners’ monthly progress and financial reporting.
- Develop and maintain database about FSS partners’ activities (i.e 4Ws), analyse and process the data, and share final information and products (dashboards, maps, etc.) with FSS partners on a monthly basis. Ensure that data is collected and presented in a way consistent with the FSS objectives and global guidelines.
- Ensure the FSS dynamic dashboard is updated on a monthly basis, including partners’ presence map, gap analysis maps and response maps.
- Collect and disseminate available food security and agriculture assessments.
- Maintain sector mailing lists.
- Maintain updated global food security cluster (gFSC) country and the FSC Humanitarian Response webpages with all relevant material.
- Conduct capacity building for FSS partners.
- Contribute to the development internal and external reports (Sitreps, monthly and quarterly dashboards, sector presentation updates, etc.).
- Coordinate the logistical arrangements of meetings, disseminate minutes and deliver regular updates during FSS meetings at national and regional levels.
- Engage with external coordination mechanisms including the gFSC, Inter-Sector coordination groups and IM Working Group, sharing information as needed, regularly attend IM thematic meetings and responding to requests.
- Perform any other duties as required.
Deliverables/outputs:
Regular and timely production of mandatory IM products
Maintenance of Contact directory and webpage
Monthly presentation of FSS progress updates
Handover report with shared folder with documents at the end of the assignment.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of Highschool Degree. University Degree or equivalent preferably in Data Management, GIS, Information Technology, Computer science, Economics, and other related field is preferrable.
Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in relevant field, with knowledge in data management and visualization.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic languages.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in using advanced Excel
- Experience in data visualization and mapping: ability to collect and organize data for map production, map production (using ArcGIS, QGIS, or any other mapping tools)
- Experience in presenting information in understandable tables, charts and graphs.
- Experience in Data analysis using statistical software
- Knowledge in Assessment, Survey, and Monitoring and Evaluation
Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
- Experience in Information Management in the humanitarian context is mandatory and experience in food security -related topics is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of Arabic and English.
- Willingness and ability to work in difficult environments, in often stressful time- critical situations.
- Formal training in Cluster/sector IMO or previous Cluster/sector experience
- Experience in Information Technology
