Bolivia – Strategic Planning Advisor At Oxfam-Québec

This is a 12-month mandate in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program ( VCP ), which takes place in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period ( 2020-2027 ). The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights. Oxfam places the rights of women, girls, and vulnerable and marginalized people at the heart of everything it does.

Here’s what your daily life will look like:

In close collaboration with Oxfam’s in-country team members, your mandate will be to:

  • Conduct workshops and set up co-learning spaces to support the local partner organization “Institute of Comprehensive Women’s Training” in their strategic planning;
  • Support the organization in the development of their five and three year plans;
  • Collaborate with the Feminist Monitoring-Evaluation-Accountability and Learning Advisor in the development of follow-up tools;
  • Assist local partner organizations in the implementation of good practices in program management and deployment;
  • Assist local partner organizations in the systematization, presentation and positioning of the program’s good practices;
  • Compile actions and products developed jointly with the organization, as well as any relevant information on the results obtained;
  • Contribute to the elaboration of program and project monitoring and evaluation reports.

For this mandate you must :

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have a university degree in Social Sciences, Economics, Project Management, Administration or other relevant field;
  • Have 3 years of relevant experience to the mandate;
  • Be fluent in Spanish, spoken and written ( required );
  • Have excellent writing skills;
  • Master the Office suite.

Bolivia – Counselor in Strategic Planning

It is a 12-month term in Cochabamba, Bolivia.

The mandate is part of the Voluntary Cooperation Program ( PCV ) for Equality in Action, which is implemented in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period ( 2020-2027 ).

The PCV aims to increase the participation of local partners in developing countries through inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will promote gender equality. Oxfam’s role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to revive and exercise their rights. Oxfam puts the rights of vulnerable and marginalized women, girls and people at the center of everything it does.

This is what your daily life will be like:

In close collaboration with Oxfam team members in the country, its mandate will consist of:

  • Create co-learning workshops and spaces to strengthen the capacity of the local partner organization “Integral Women’s Training Institute” in preparing its strategic planning;
  • Support the organization in the development of its five-year and triennial plans;
  • Collaborate with the Monitoring-Evaluation-Learning-Counting Advisor in the development of monitoring tools;
  • Support local partner organizations in the implementation of good management practices and program implementation;
  • Support local partner organizations in the systematization, presentation and positioning of good practices;
  • Compile, together with the partner organization, the results obtained and the actions and products developed jointly;
  • Contribute to the preparation of monitoring and evaluation reports on the program and projects.

For this mandate you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have a university degree in social sciences, economics, project management, administration or any other relevant field;
  • Have 3 years of experience relevant to the mandate;
  • Have command of Spanish, spoken and written ( mandatory );
  • Have superior writing skills;
  • Own the Microsoft Office domain.

What we offer:

  • A monthly subsistence allowance for base expenses;
    • 20% increase in allowance for each accompanying child ( maximum of 2 children )
  • 1,500 $ CAD per year / per child for school expenses;
  • A monthly home allowance;
  • Round trip plane ticket with 2 suitcases in the hold;
    • Round trip airline ticket for each accompanying child
  • 200 $ CAD for additional baggage;
  • Advantageous medical insurance for you and your ( s ) child ( s ) companion ( s );
  • A support program during his term and up to two months after the end of his term;
  • 20 days of vacation and other non-working days;
  • Access to various training courses ( E-Learning, etc. );
