TITLE: Brand and Media Coordinator

TEAM/PROGRAMME: ACCM

LOCATION: Thailand

CONTRACT LENGTH: 24 months with possible extension

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Brand and Media Coordinator will collaborate with the ACCM Manager to lead and coordinate the organization’s brand strategy for brand building and fundraising purposes. This role involves implementing branding strategies, managing media relations, supporting events with visibility components, and engaging with ambassadors and celebrities. The Brand and Media Coordinator will play a crucial role in enhancing the organization’s brand visibility and public support.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Reports to: Advocacy, Campaign, Communications and Media (ACCM) Manager

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Brand Strategy

  • Implement and coordinate brand strategies by working with other departments to be aligned with organizational needs, strategic priorities, and business plans.
  • Strategically activate and implement branding initiatives to increase public support and engagement, focusing on both digital and mainstream media.
  • Ensure correct and consistent usage of the organization’s brand across multiple digital channels.
  • Enhance the visibility of brand value, community, and volunteer content through optimized media coverage and regular updates.

Media

  • Manage relationships with media outlets and develop a comprehensive media engagement plan.
  • Handle media requests, organize media visit (if required), and coordinate press releases, press kits, and news content.
  • Organize capacity-building sessions for spokespersons through various channels.
  • Monitor media issues and prepare SCT’s response to media’s interest which contribute to campaign, advocacy, and fundraising objectives.
  • Liaise with and coordinate media interviews with spokespersons.

Supporting Other Departments

  • Work along side the ACCM team to ensure that brand activation and media engagement are integrated in the activities, particularly those related to public engagement.
  • Collaborate with project team to ensure they have the necessary skills, training, tools, and resources to engage in brand and media activities.
  • Collaborate with New Business Development team to support fundraising digital activities through community and brand activation.

Public Relation

  • Engage with celebrities and ambassadors to enhance the organization’s visibility.
  • Support or lead major external events and coordinate with PR agencies for event management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with PR agencies.

Media & Communication in Emergencies:

  • Support the Response Team in delivering media objectives during humanitarian, conflict, or crisis situations.
  • Provide backstopping support in close coordination with the humanitarian department and within the ACCM department.
  • Be ready for deployment on the ground to support the Emergency Response Team.

Integrity:

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in journalist, communications arts, public relation, marketing, or any related field.
  • At least 5-year work experience in media, brand management, marketing, public relations, or related field.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential

  • Excellent English and Thai communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • At least 5 years experiences working in communication, brand, marketing sector
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong experience in leading or implementing media engagement plan.
  • Ability to speak confidently in front of the media, donors, and senior staff
  • Good understanding of social media engagement
  • Excellent personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Experience and understanding children’s issues in Thailand
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the organization developing effective working relationships to deliver outstanding results for children
  • Commitment to and understanding of SCT mission, values, and principles including rights-based approaches
  • Ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and at different levels, to motivate and inspire teamwork
  • Highly organized, methodical and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Expert at managing own workload and prioritizing tasks with competing deadlines

Desirable

  • Previous NGO experience or Save the Children previous experience is an advantage
  • Flexibility, live and thrive in challenging circumstances
  • Have a very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness
  • Experience of working in related human development issues, especially one or more of Save the Children’s sectors (i.e. child protection, child rights governance, education, humanitarian) an advantage
  • Excellent people management and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond effectively to challenges, and work effectively in a cross-culture environment.
