The northern regions of Burkina Faso currently have a fragile political and security context, marked in particular by a complex multidimensional crisis. There are just over one million displaced people in the country at the beginning of 2021.

The’Acted mission in Burkina Faso began in 2019 to provide support to populations affected by the security and humanitarian crisis, provide expertise in rapid response and’ emergencies, while strengthening response capacities and coordination between humanitarian and development actors.

’Acted Burkina Faso interventions are multisectoral, flexible and inclusive, with the AIM OF responding to the urgent needs of populations. From its first interventions, Acted Burkina Faso focuses on the most necessary humanitarian assistance’: response to the needs in food security, water, hygiene and sanitation (EHA), shelter and essential household items and finally in coordination and integration of protection. In parallel, and following the evolution of the humanitarian crisis, Acted supports the government on the management of temporary’Home sites and informal sites. The REACH initiative enables the’ as a whole of the humanitarian community to strengthen the’analysis of humanitarian needs, in particular through a project to monitor the humanitarian situation in 4 regionsthe establishment of’a multi-sectoral country assessment to support the HNO/HRP 2021 process and territorial assessments.

In the North Region, Acted provided assistance in food security and livelihoods,’eau,’ hygiene and sanitation,’abris and essential household items. Acted supports the government in the management of the displacement sites of Ouahigouya and Seguenega. The’organisation is planning very soon to support the logistics cluster in the management of’a humanitarian warehouse and the sharing of’information to partners.

Main role and responsibilities

The Technical Coordinator is responsible for providing coordination and support, strategic planning and technical support for activities in a given geographical area, in a given sector. He/she plays a key role in the’providing technical elements for the sector strategy and project development at local, national level. In addition, he supports the’ project team for the planning, design, implementation, supervision, potential deployments and administrative management of technical interventions in the sector.

Qualifications and skills required

  • Diploma in a relevant field of’expertise;
  • At least 5 years of’ experience in implementing projects in the field, preferably in an international context;
  • Have a strong team spirit;
  • Familiarity with the’aide system and ability to understand the requirements of donors and governments;
  • Excellent communication and writing skills;
  • Ability to coordinate and manage project staff and activities; and
  • Proven ability to work creatively and independently, both in the field and’ in the office;
  • Ability to organize and plan effectively;
  • Ability to work with groups of people from different cultures;
  • Ability to travel and work in difficult conditions and under pressure;
  • L’ranglais courant is required ;

Conditions

  • Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies, the’expertise, the level of security and the level of experience : between 3100 and 3300 € monthly net (before income taxes)
  • Monthly living expenses allowance 300$
  • Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
  • Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
  • Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the’address specified on the employment contract)
  • Visa fees supported by Acted
  • R&R every 3 months (aircraft ticket’ supported up to’ 500$ + additional allowance of 200$)
  • One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
  • Possibility of’having a call of 30 minutes with a consultant in taxation
  • Psychological support (meet with a professional.le)
