Act Burkina Faso
The northern regions of Burkina Faso currently have a fragile political and security context, marked in particular by a complex multidimensional crisis. There are just over one million displaced people in the country at the beginning of 2021.
The’Acted mission in Burkina Faso began in 2019 to provide support to populations affected by the security and humanitarian crisis, provide expertise in rapid response and’ emergencies, while strengthening response capacities and coordination between humanitarian and development actors.
’Acted Burkina Faso interventions are multisectoral, flexible and inclusive, with the AIM OF responding to the urgent needs of populations. From its first interventions, Acted Burkina Faso focuses on the most necessary humanitarian assistance’: response to the needs in food security, water, hygiene and sanitation (EHA), shelter and essential household items and finally in coordination and integration of protection. In parallel, and following the evolution of the humanitarian crisis, Acted supports the government on the management of temporary’Home sites and informal sites. The REACH initiative enables the’ as a whole of the humanitarian community to strengthen the’analysis of humanitarian needs, in particular through a project to monitor the humanitarian situation in 4 regionsthe establishment of’a multi-sectoral country assessment to support the HNO/HRP 2021 process and territorial assessments.
In the North Region, Acted provided assistance in food security and livelihoods,’eau,’ hygiene and sanitation,’abris and essential household items. Acted supports the government in the management of the displacement sites of Ouahigouya and Seguenega. The’organisation is planning very soon to support the logistics cluster in the management of’a humanitarian warehouse and the sharing of’information to partners.
Main role and responsibilities
The/the Country Director Assistant.e – Programs & External Relations is a key senior member of the’ country-wide management team, which will support and assist the/the Country Director (CD) in the management and direction of the entire country programme. The/the Deputy Country Director – External Programs & Relations is required to represent Acted to government authorities, donors, clusters, working groups,’ONU agencies and other NGOs. He/She develops and develops the profiles of the programs in accordance with the gobal, regional and national strategy of’Acted and ensures the financing of their deployment. Il/Elle s’sure d’a progressive, efficient development, responsible for the activities of’Acted via strategic positioning and quality of implementation of projects.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Positioning and fundraising
- Analysis of the context ;
- Strategy development and deployment ;
- Networking, positioning and general representation ;
- Relations with donors and development of project proposals ;
- Grant Management;
2. Support of the technical programme and coordination
- Technical support ;
- Coordination ;
3. Monitoring and Evaluation (Investigations, follow-ups/controls, evaluations)
- MEAL systems ;
- Implementation and management of MEAL;
4. External communication
5. Management and Internal coordination
- Management of the’team ;
- Internal coordination and communication;
- Ranking.
Qualifications and skills required
- Higher education (Master) ;
- Editorial abilities ;
- Experience abroad on management positions of 3 years minimum;
- Knowledge of the area is an asset;
- Very strong organizational capabilities ;
- Experience in the management of major teams, national and international;
- Experience in project management, particularly with an institutional component ;
- Experience in the field of community participation, the link with local authorities ;
- Management and administration skills ;
- Flexibility, adaptation, resistance to stress ;
- Patience and negotiating spirit, excellent written and oral communication skills.
Conditions
- Salary defined by the Acted salary grid according to the level of’studies, the’expertise, the level of security and the level of experience : between 3500 and 3600€ net monthly (before income taxes)
- Monthly living expenses allowance 300$
- Guesthouse accommodation and food supported by Acted
- Social security, mutual insurance (MSH) and repatriation assistance (SOS International) supported by Acted
- Transport to the mission and return ticket fully supported every 6 months (to the’address specified on the employment contract)
- Visa fees supported by Acted
- R&R every 3 months (aircraft ticket’ supported up to’ 500$ + additional allowance of 200$)
- One week of preparation for departure including 4 days of immersion safety training
- Possibility of’having a call of 30 minutes with a consultant in taxation
- Psychological support (meet with a professional.le)
