Fondazione Terre des Hommes Italia Onlus (TdH It) is member of the International Federation of Terre des Hommes, member of AOI and partner of ECHO. Its mandate is the protection of children, with and without disabilities. In Jordan it is registered with the Ministry of Social Development since 2005 and it operates in the sectors of Protection, Education, Health, Basic Needs and Livelihood in the most vulnerable areas in Jordan (i.e. North and central governorates).

The Business Development Officer is hired in the framework of the projectFursati “my opportunity”: Supporting the improvement of the living conditions of people with disabilities exposed to the consequences of the Syrian crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Wadi Musa, Petra, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS)

Position Requirements

Experience

  • Bachelor degree in on of the following fields Business management, Economy, Finance, development and social Studies, Environmental Studies or related qualifications;
  • Experience in Livelihoods and early recovery LHH in Emergency is an asset
  • Previous experience in business coaching mentoring, initiating (Start-up and Scale up for SMEs) Value Chain and follow-up

  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of small business operations, Small and Medium Enterprises start up and scale up.
  • Knowledge of basic business accounting and Bill of Quantity (BoQ) establishment along with the invoices revision from the local markets.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the procurements and logistics procedure, planning and supply chain
  • Knowledge of national financial and tax regulations pertaining to small businesses.
  • Knowledge of the Jordanian labour law and International Labour organization regulations
  • Effective communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the inclusion of the supported beneficiaries with disabilities in the job market;
  • Responsible for conducting the Round Table with the private actors in Wadi Musa to promote the dry-clean and the insertion of the beneficiaries in the job market;
  • Responsible for preparing a business plan for the dry-clean set-up in Wadi Musa;
  • Responsible for preparing a marketing plan for the dry-clean set-up in Wadi Musa;
  • Responsible for setting a saving plan for the dry-clea set-up in Wadi Musa;
  • Analyzing customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with company products and services;
  • Contacting project beneficiaries on a regular basis and follow up with them
  • Conducting household visits, focus group discussions and key informant interviews upon the request of the PM;
  • Conducting market research in the area;
  • Working in close collaboration with the local partner of TdH It;
  • Provide verbal and written reports on the activities to the LHH PM as deducted in Work Plan;
  • Ensure the timely implementation of field activities as per the predefined schedule;
  • Inform and document the anomalies and the challenges carried out during the implementation phase of the program;
  • Participate in the briefing and induction sessions given to stakeholders and field team.
  • Provide support to the field team upon request
  • Participating in the UN Cluster Livelihood Working Group;
  • Support in building relationships between TdH It, local authorities, municipalities and communities

In order to perform the mentioned tasks, the Business Development Officer duty station will be between Wadi Musa and Amman National Office. The Business Development Officer shall have the flexibility to move between those locations depending on the need and the request of the line manager. TdH Italy will provide accommodation in its guest house.

Support all TdH It activities

  • Support emergency interventions, as per the employee’s competences;
  • Support any activity that helps achieving TdH It humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s capacities;
  • Participate in new assessments;
  • Support other activities if it is needed;
