SPARK is an international development organisation with more than 28 years of experience in supporting entrepreneurship development in fragile states. Soon we will start implementing a new programme to support entrepreneurship development and MSMEs growth in the Benghazi region.

We are looking for a results-oriented and experienced Business Incubation Services Expert. The expert leads the component of the project that provides business skills training, mentoring & coaching, and facilitating access to finance to young entrepreneurs in Libya. He/she further develops SPARK’s incubation and business development services for clients. The position offers a great opportunity to be deeply involved in business development and (youth) job creation in conflict affected environments.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

● Support establishment of new incubators & development of the incubator strategy for outreach, scouting, attracting, and on-boarding entrepreneurs, and start-ups;

● Development of new and already existing business incubation services;

● Organise the capacity building of business incubation partners;

● Train and coach business support and other project staff on aspects of project management;

● Ensure quality and effectiveness of services through monitoring, learning, evaluation and reporting of business incubation services;

● Contribute to learning and expertise development across programmes and regions;

● Liaison with key stakeholders and partners;

● Execute monitoring and reporting tasks for the relevant program component

Requirements and Skills

● At least 3-5 years’ experience working with entrepreneurs, start-ups, Innovation hubs/centres, incubators, or incubation consultancy;

● Relevant active network required to implement the activities;

● Demonstrated ability to cultivate, build and maintain strong working relationships with start-ups, entrepreneurs, mentors, universities, business schools and research institutions;

● Bachelor’s Degree required, and master’s degree strongly preferred in business administration/MBA, international business, economic development and or relevant field;

● Good understanding of business development, marketing strategy and innovation;

● Familiarity with a broad range of innovation approaches and methodologies;

● Start-up experience and/or experience in business coaching and training including development of materials and toolkits;

● Fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic;

● Forward-thinking, proactive and service minded;

● Available and willing to very frequently travel between project locations in Libya.
