About Terre des hommes (Tdh)
Terre des hommes (Tdh) is the leading Swiss organization for children’s aid, committed to building a better future for children and youth, especially those most at risk. Since 1960, Tdh has worked in over 30 countries, improving the lives of over four million children annually. The organization focuses on mother and child health, migration, and access to justice for children.
In Ukraine, Tdh began its operations in 2015 and has responded to the ongoing humanitarian crisis since 2022 by providing vital services to children, youth, and their families. Collaborating with a network of NGOs and local institutions, Tdh notably supported the rehabilitation and provision of equipment for IDP accommodation centers and shelters in schools, the establishment of Child Friendly Spaces and Learning spaces in which psychosocial support is provided, and the delivery of case management and child protection services. Tdh’s operations span over Western, Southern, and Eastern Ukraine, with a coordination office in Kyiv and operational offices in Kharkiv and Ivano-Frankivsk. This broad coverage allows for the implementation of high-quality child protection programs reaching the most vulnerable children and their families.
