CCCM Project Officer At INTERSOS

JOB PURPOSE

The Project Officer ensures the implementation of project activities and prepares progress reports on field activities. He/she contributes to effective and timely completion of project activities, delivery of quality outputs and achievement of outcomes with maximum impact for beneficiaries. He/she reports directly to the Project Manager and works closely with the field team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the operational planning, implementation, and monitoring of the CCCM program in close collaboration with the Program Manager to meet multi-sector program requirements in close coordination with (SPOs), logistics, the MEAL department, Finance, and the Compliance Unit.
  • Supports in planning and tracking budget expenditures, proper procurement planning, and follow-up to ensure quality supplies while ensuring accountability documentation in compliance with INTERSOS standards and donor requirements.
  • Supports MEAL in planning and supervising field data collection, monitoring all activities, tracking project performance indicators against the agreed targets, and reviewing log frames, theories of change, context analyses and needs assessments that would inform programming.
  • Support the project staff based in the field, with CCCM technical support, elaboration of tools, and any other support as required. Including team management and capacity development on sector priorities and concepts.
  • Regular visits to the field of implementation for quality checks and follow-up monitoring of general program responsibilities, adjusting and providing relevant recommendations where necessary.
  • Prepare weekly updates and consolidation of other bi-weekly and monthly reports related to the overall program activities to be shared internally as well as updating the relevant external stakeholders and sector leads on developments around the areas of responsibility.
  • Establish appropriate links with national and local authorities, State institutions, civil society, and other relevant actors to maintain appropriate coordination and information sharing regarding the inter-operability, Impact, and durability of service provision for the affected population in the Areas of responsibility.
  • In coordination with the security and safety department ensure security compliance by staff, including obtaining movement clearances, reporting security incidents, etc.,
  • Supports the HR, admin, and line Manager in recruitment processes and enforcing compliance with the Organization’s policies and humanitarian principles, ensuring that there is a safe space for reporting and/or whistleblowing in areas of operation when any staff member is found or involved in breach of Code of Conduct, fraud, etc.
  • Proactively support the adaptation of project staffing structure based on needs and funding, ensure regular performance appraisal and career management of project teams, ensure a positive working environment and good team dynamics, manage interpersonal conflicts and Ensure capacity building among projects staff.
  • Ensure project accountability records and documentation (all files, beneficiary lists, attendance sheets, meeting minutes, donation, and handover certificates, etc) are adequately prepared, compiled, and filed in an orderly manner.
  • Liaise with relevant service providers to foster effective collaboration in the provision of protection and assistance to IDPs living outside camp settings.
  • Carry out all tasks respecting key protection principles, including Child Protection and PSEAH policy.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Educational Requirement

  • Minimum of three (3) Years Working Professional Experience with INGO in CCCM and other related sector.
  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business Management, Development Studies or any related field.
  • Field experience in program management and coordination
  • Knowledge of CCCM and understanding of donor policies and requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and manage projects.
  • Ability to work independently and creatively in the field.
  • Team player.
  • Strong ability to work in a cross-cultural context.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Knowledge of a local language and area context is a plus.
