CDAC Regional Programme and Insights Lead – Asia-Pacific At CDAC Network

The Communicating with Disaster Affected Communities Network (CDAC) enters a new strategy period in 2022, a period which marks the next stage of action in achieving its vision ‘that communities have the information and resources they need to determine their own solutions and are central stakeholders in humanitarian and development decision making’. CDAC drives change in communication, community engagement and accountability towards affected populations.

CDAC is a global network of leading media development organisations, NGOs, the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, UN agencies and specialised communications entities. Using the collective clout of the network, CDAC seeks to reverse the focus of humanitarian and development decision-making – moving from global to local. This is done through deep engagement with local bodies to strengthen sustainable communication and engagement ecosystems. In our new strategy, we will double down on promoting local approaches to CCEA and elevating learning and policy at the global level to ensure that policy and practice strengthens, uses and supports decision making by the right people.

JOB PURPOSE

The Focal Person for Asia-Pacific will lead on developing CDAC’s approach in the region; engage with members and partners on National CCEA Platforms to set the direction and focus; and, support the roll-out of CDAC’s global multi-year strategy.

If this job is for you, you have proven expertise in providing remote technical and strategic support, providing analysis and insights on regional and national data, mobilising support around critical issues and initiating and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders at the national and regional level. You will have excellent writing and analysis skills and a strong understanding of humanitarian and/or development programming. You are confident and innovative, excited to work in a fast-moving environment, passionate about communication, community engagement and accountability and driven by the opportunity to drive change in the humanitarian sector.
