VisionFund International is financial empowerment from World Vision, a Christian humanitarian, development and advocacy organization devoted to improving the lives of children, families and their communities around the world. Working together as part of World Vision – VisionFund enables impoverished households to increase their incomes and then impact communities to increase economic activity, access clean water, education and healthcare, benefit from improvements to nutrition, and provide the foundations for local economies to flourish.

As part of the VisionFund International network, The Income Growth Micro-Institution Network (RMCR) is a microfinance institution established in Mali since 2000. RMCR offers financial services to poor working populations living mainly in rural areas.

Here’s where you come in:

As the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the activities of the Microfinance Institution (MFI) and will:

• Implement RMCR’s strategic objectives in Mali.
• Provide direction and leadership to RMCR in achieving the vision, mission, strategy and annual goals.
• Represent RMCR and strive to build a positive image in all relevant media.

Major Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for managing over 100 employees, a credit portfolio of over $ 20 million and over 30,000 clients and will be responsible for developing the institution’s offers and maintaining the latter in stable profitability within the framework of the mission.

Requirements Include:

• At least a Master (BAC + 5) in Business Administration / Management, Finance, Banking, Economics, Accounting or any other equivalent university degree.
• At least ten years of experience in a senior management position in microfinance, banking institution, microenterprise finance, international trade, economics or development institution.
• Excellent knowledge of the microfinance or banking sector and of information and communication technology.
• Determined personality in terms of taking initiatives, able to solve problems, motivate and manage a team.
• Ability and commitment to lead the organization forward in achieving its objectives.
• Ready to conform to and embody the ideals and values ​​of the organization.
• Be an excellent leader.
• Fluent in French and working knowledge of English.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Good knowledge of economic and financial issues.
• Excellent strategic skills.

Working conditions:

• Work environment: position based in the Bamako office with periodic trips to the areas of operations (20% travel and 80% of the time in the office)
• Travel: 90% domestic and 10% international
• Working hours: Availability to work outside normal working hours.
