Here’s where you come in:

World Vision is searching for an experienced Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID Bangladesh’s Community Nutrition Activity, with an anticipated budget of $25-$49.99 million over 5 years. The program will seek to improve the nutritional status of women and children within the 1,000 days defined as pregnancy to the child’s second birthday. The Community Nutrition Activity seeks to support maternal, infant, and young child’s nutrition status by 1) improving the quality of nutrition and health services provided at community level; 2) improving nutrition and health behaviors; and 3) strengthening governance for nutrition at national and sub-national levels. The Activity also seeks to improve communities’ resilience to shocks as a cross-cutting outcome.

As the Chief of Party, Bangladesh Nutrition Activity you are responsible for the overall management and representation of the activity. You will be responsible for overall strategic, technical leadership, financial, and administrative oversight of the program and will serve as the principal institutional liaison to the donor and local government entities. For management, you must have proven leadership skills managing projects of a similar size and scope in developing countries. You must have prior experience effectively managing USAID development activities.

Requirements include:

  • A master’s degree in public health, nutrition, public administrations, development studies, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience managing projects (preferably donor-funded projects) focused on community health; maternal, neonatal, and child health; nutrition; reproductive health; or social and behaviour change, in Bangladesh or the South Asia region
  • Experience designing, managing, and implementing complex health activities, preferably in areas of nutrition; MNCH; FP; RH; and infectious disease in developing countries involving multiple stakeholders and implementing partners
  • Experience in managing donor-funded procurements and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with international assistance program requirements, preferably US government-funded programs, rules and regulations.
  • Experience working/living in countries in Asia. Familiarity with the context of Bangladesh
  • Strong verbal communication skills, strong presentation and report writing skills.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Work environment: Office-based with regular travel to project sites.
  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25 % of the time.
