Chief of Party, Cash & Voucher Assistance Program At Save the Children

Where you come in:
In this full-time, maximum-term position, based in Suva, Fiji you will provide in-country strategic leadership for the implementation of the Cash & Voucher Assistance (CVA) program in Fiji. You will engage, lead, motivate and inspire the CVA team to deploy social protection via cash programming. You will be part of our Cash & Voucher Assistance Project Team and report to the CEO of Save the Children Fiji.

You will make an impact by:

  • Coordinating and representing the programme in different fora, partners, and cash coordination groups in Fiji
  • Leading a Programme Management Unit (PMU) to ensure high levels of motivation, commitment, capacity, and teamwork
  • Ensuring sound budget tracking, overall financial monitoring and oversight of risk mitigation measures
  • Promoting dialogue and consensus building at the highest levels and to provide and facilitate expert advice to national actors in Fiji
  • Working closely with technical cash specialists on design, and regional leadership, who will oversee donor reporting

Does this sound like you?
You understand the overall socio-political context in Fiji or Pacific and have experience in poverty reduction and social protection. You have experience managing complex and inclusive programmes, ideally including the Pacific. You have established high-level relationships and facilitated inter-institutional collaboration between Government institutions.

This role requires:

  • Proven leadership, inter-personal and cross-cultural skills, and ability to build and motivate multi-disciplinary teams
  • Possesses a demonstrated ability to establish strong working relationships with senior representatives of international donors, national and local governments
  • An ability to arbitrate between parties and to find solutions to challenging issues in an evolving development/emergency context
  • Demonstrated creativity and willingness to innovate
  • Ability to integrate a rights-based gender and diversity perspective in all activities
