Summary of Role
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the anticipated climate change project in Morocco focusing on reducing emissions, building resilience, mobilizing finance, amplifying the voices of marginalized groups, and transforming key systems for effective climate action. The COP will ensure alignment with project objectives and ensure collaboration with the stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead project implementation to achieve objectives.
- Strengthen partnerships with government agencies, local partners, private sector and other donors.
- Interact directly and on a regular basis with USAID/Morocco to coordinate program direction
- Serve as the primary liaison with USAID and serve as the principal leadership.
- Oversee and ensure financial, technical, and operational management standards and compliance with donor requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring timely reporting and adaptive management.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

- Master’s degree in environmental science, International Development, Public Policy, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role (COP/ Team Lead) in climate or environmental projects.
- Fluency in French; proficiency in English is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of governance and citizen participation frameworks.
