JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direct responsibility of the Country Representative, the CHILDREN’S RIGHTS SPECIALIST – SEA and child protection component, without limiting the generality of the foregoing and without excluding other mandates that may be entrusted to him/her from time to time, the Protection Specialist is in charge of the monitoring and evaluation strategy of projects, consultation frameworks and the dissemination of deliverables produced by the project.
Responsibilities
Global strategy component of the Office
-Contribute to the reflection around the strategic plan of the Office or any other strategic document of the Office
-Develop the terms of reference and facilitate the workshops for which he/she is responsible
-At the request of the RP, support the co-facilitation of workshops with the team of other specialists
Programmatic support component for the project
-In collaboration with the technical team of the project office, participate in discussions and contributions to results-based management of the project, in particular by proposing to the RP adjustments to the project strategies to achieve immediate, intermediate and ultimate results
-Support project specialists in co-facilitating project consultation frameworks, in particular sectoral and multi-sectoral working groups.
-Ensure the implementation of the gender strategy
-Organize and contribute to monitoring visits of the impact of the project and ownership by partners
-Animate and monitor observer groups
-In close collaboration with the technical team of the project office, contribute to the identification, analysis and documentation of programmatic lessons learned
-Support the dissemination of RPE, health and multi-sectoral deliverables
-Carry out final data collection.
Qualifications and experience
Requirements
✓Initial and/or continuing education in social sciences (law, international relations, sociology or any other relevant field);
✓2-3 years of experience in the field of children’s rights;
✓Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects, ideally in an NGO or international organization;
✓Experience in managing a wide variety of activities with different sectors
; ✓Specific experience in the fields of education and health;
✓Demonstrated capacities for analysis and synthesis in children’s rights and monitoring, evaluation and learning;
✓Knowledge of mechanisms and standards in child rights governance;
✓Knowledge of national policies on children’s rights and collaboration with civil society organizations;
✓Ability to communicate with children and in compliance with the IBCR’s safeguarding policies;
✓Good command of the French language, both spoken and written, and of the various languages spoken in the contexts of the Office’s intervention orally;
✓Good writing skills
✓Flexibility and ability to work in a team and under pressure
