Children’s Worker Volunteer At Action for Education

ABOUT US

Action for Education (AFE) is an independent, grassroots organisation founded in Greece in 2018. We develop projects that build pathways back into education for displaced communities. Building on our experience running non-formal refugee education projects, we seek to provide new and innovative responses for teaching and supporting educational services in crisis situations.

Action for Education is committed to providing safe spaces for children, teenagers, women and youth. Through careful guidance in learning social interactions and through common activities, we support individuals as they continue to grow, develop and build a better future.

THE OPPORTUNITY

One of the locations in which we currently operate is Athens, where we have recently started the Nest – a center for families and children (aged 2–7). We run this project in partnership with PILA (Pedagogical Institute of Los Angeles) and Carry the Future. We are open from Monday to Friday from 10 to 5 pm. AFE is currently looking for a volunteer who is interested in working with children and to potentially teach English to parents.

Please note that this position is available on a voluntary basis (unpaid) and we require that volunteers stay for a minimum of two months.
