Civil Peace Service (CPS) Advisor (m/f/d) for Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation
Field of activity
The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a programme for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. CPS advisors support local initiatives in their commitment to dialogue, human rights and peace in the long term. Currently, more than 300 international CPS advisors work in 43 countries. In the Great Lakes Region of Africa, the CPS is executed as a regional programme and covers the countries Rwanda, Burundi and the Eastern part of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It supports local civil society organisations in strengthening local peace initiatives for social cohesion and fostering youth’s resilience to manipulation and calls for violence. Moreover, it seeks to increase partner organisations’ capacities, sustainability, and effectiveness. In 2014, the CPS Rwanda introduced a refugee component and extended its interventions to Kigeme, Mugombwa, and Mahama refugee camps and their respective host communities. The advertised position is assigned to this component.
Your tasks
- Steering CPS refugee component planning processes
- In close coordination with the CPS refugee component leader update conceptual development of the component´s PM&E system
- Organise trainings in PM&E for CPS refugee component and partner organisations
- Support partners in improving project proposals writing and annual reporting
- Support CPS refugee component leader in annual reporting as well as in strengthening quality insurance and data management systems
- Technical support for partner organizations in the operationalization of the results from the planning processes
- Collect and analyse qualitative and quantitative data on the progress and outcomes of the CPS refugee component
- Organize baseline studies, mid-term and end line evaluations and surveys and act as a focal person for research within the CPS refugee component
Your profile
- University degree in social sciences, peace and conflict studies, political science, international relations, or comparable qualification
- Several years of practical work experience in the field of project management or project evaluation
- Work-related experience abroad, preferably in a post-conflict context
- High analytical ability
- Very good knowledge of research methods (data collection and analysis)
- Very good knowledge of MS-Office applications, especially Excel
- Fluency in English; French skills are an asset
