JOB DETAILS

Job Title: Climate-Smart Agriculture Consultant (Agriculture Market Support, climate change, and food system).

SRD Center seeks consultants to contribute in conducting a study on Climate-Smart Agriculture in Iraq. The duration of the assignment will be approximately 3 months of fieldwork from end of Feb. 2024. Please note that CVs will be assessed on an ongoing basis and therefore qualified candidates are encouraged to send their CVs as early as possible.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Consultant

  1. Contribute to the preparation of the design report
  2. Evaluate the thematic section of the country programme
  3. Take part in the data collection during the design and field phases
  4. Be involved in the debriefing meeting
  5. Deliver quality inputs on time
  6. Responsible for drafting key parts of the design report and of the final evaluation report.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance,
  • Update knowledge on current issues and challenges relate to resilience, and food systems, livelihoods, climate change, disaster risk reduction, especially how it relates to Afghanistan.
  • Editorial skills including use of research to produce quality documents, recommendations and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software.
  • Experience working in the conflict or post-conflict environments (preferred, not mandatory) Good knowledge of the context and the conflict in Northeast Syria, where the project is being implemented.
  • Experience of effective interaction with local non-government organizations, government departments, and population.
  • Strong established field-based structure to enable autonomous data collection.
  • Evidence of similar work in the recent past.
  • Ability to deliver report within the deadline set out in the TOR.
