Context:

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-office in Cotabato, with technical supervision of the Chief Migration Health Officer in Manila and direct supervision of the Senior Programme and Liaison Assistant in Cotabato, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for clinical support to COVID-19 health monitoring and general health support to the project staff.

Core Functions / Responsibilities:

  • Collect specimens at the residences of the UN staff and eligible dependents and submit to the relevant testing/laboratory site.
  • Support IOM offices in Mindanao on home case monitoring as well as referrals when necessary.
  • Ensure proper identification and follow-up by:
    • Comprehensive history taking.
    • Accurate Biodata collection.
    • Ensuring ID verification for each step of the health assessment and monitoring process; and,
    • Keeping a register of UN staff and eligible dependents who undergo telehealth consultation and services.
  • Support communication on clinical matters with health authorities including medical transportation.
  • Maintain and monitor the PPEs, medical kits, and equipment.
  • Follow and implement the telehealth monitoring check lists and SOP’s and maintain standard universal precautions.
  • Provide counselling to UN staff and eligible dependents on vaccination and COVID-19 education, prevention, and management as appropriate.
  • Collect statistical information and share with the Senior Program and Liaison Assistant as per pre-set and agreed upon format.
  • Support project team on all medical matters including projects and associated pandemic interventions.
  • Support vaccination implementation.
  • Support Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) implementation and regular monitoring in all IOM offices.
  • Prepare administrative reports and program updates as necessary.
  • Support the planning and execution of mobile missions or travel duty if applicable.
  • Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Nursing Degree with a minimum of three years relevant clinical experience and a valid license to practice nursing in the Philippines.

Experience

  • Excellent technical skills, including in health assessment, monitoring and referral.
  • Training or working experience in the areas of COVID-19 management, mass immunizations, communicable diseases, laboratory testing, or public health is an advantage.

Skills

  • Computer literacy required: MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Knowledge of the region is an advantage.

Languages

Fluency in English and Filipino is required. Working knowledge of BARMM/Mindanao dialects is an advantage.
