Community Development Facilitator – Livelihoods & CCA At Islamic Relief

About the position

The Community Development Facilitator will support the work of the Program Officer and the Area Programme Manager in implementing projects in the communities. The CDF ensures that barangay and community-level development processes and activities conducted in target areas are facilitated efficiently, with direct participation, inclusion, and engagement of all stakeholders. The CDF ensures that opportunities are provided, processes are designed and followed, and mechanisms are established at the barangay level, that would allow all sectors, especially the most marginalized groups, to engage in and benefit from project activities.

In addition, the CDF will support the effective integration of critical cross-cutting issues including Islamic Relief’s policy on gender justice, social inclusion and peace building and work on building community support to the project.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

1. Support in organising activities, which may include coordination and liaising with community partners and stakeholders, technical support in managing the day-to-day operations of activities/program, documentation of the proceedings and drafting of activity accomplishment reports;
2. Support the MEAL team in its monitoring activities, which may include providing technical support and organizing surveys, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and gathering of data and information;
3. Provide support to the drafting of annual work plan and six-monthly progress report;
4. Provide support in conducting the Quarterly Project Reviews, reflection and knowledge sharing sessions;
5. Other duties as may reasonably be required by the Area Programme Manager consistent with the incumbent’s qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

• The Community Development Facilitator should possess the following qualifications and experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Community Development or related field (desirable);
• Strong working experience (at least 2 years) in the areas of community and stakeholders organizing, preferably significant experience with livelihood and climate change advocacies;
• Strong knowledge and understanding of the cultural and economic context of Lanao del Sur and neighboring provinces in Mindanao;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and has ability to work effectively with others in a cross-cultural and fragile environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Tagalog; Proficiency in local dialect (Maranaw) is an advantage;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Office; and
• Excellent coordination, liaising, and events organizing skills;
