Community Health Programme Manager At Inter Help

More Information

Mission based in Kankan, Republic of Guinea

Who are we ?

Inter Aide is a French NGO specializing in the implementation of development programs for particularly deprived families. The association’s areas of action, since its creation in 1980, are access to water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), agriculture, health and educational support. These programs are implemented in rural areas, particularly isolated, combining high intensity of needs and high population density, and where the context is sufficiently stable to develop actions oriented towards the autonomy of populations in the long term.

Since 2017, Inter Aide has been engaged in a prospecting process in Guinea Conakry, particularly in rural areas and in the areas of EHA (water, hygiene and sanitation) and community health. Inter Aide has launched two projects in Upper Guinea in the Kankan Prefecture. The community health program activities were launched in October 2021.

The objective of the project is to improve the health of children and women in the target area, by combating the major risks and diseases that affect them (main communicable diseases, factors related to maternal and/or reproductive health, etc.). The program will be structured around the following two axes:

  • Awareness-raising/training of rural communities on preventive practices and early care-seeking attitudes to adopt;
  • Support for local public health services to improve access and quality of care for rural communities, including the establishment of community health workers and the strengthening of rural health posts.
