Project Overview
Prevention and reduction of child labour in Uganda (PREC Project) aims to prevent and reduce exploitative child labour (CL) through strengthened civil society action in Abim, Kotido, and Napak districts of the Karamoja region by 2026. This will be achieved through the four interrelated objectives:
- Strengthened environment around, and improved resilience of, child and family to prevent and protect against exploitative CL
- Influenced socio-cultural norms in targeted communities to prevent and reduce exploitative CL
- Enhanced resilience and livelihoods of children and families who are vulnerable/victims of exploitative CL
- Influenced government policies and systems to address exploitative CL
Position
Hope for Justice in Uganda is looking for three (3) experienced Community Programme Officers who will be responsible for strengthening families, communities, and systems to resist recruitment in exploitative child labour in the Karamoja Region in the districts of Abim, Kotido and Napak.

Person Specifications
- Degree in a relevant field, Education, Community Psychology, Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Social sciences and Development studies.
- A qualification in Project Planning and Management will be an added advantage.
- 3 years field experience of working with communities evaluation, a good portion of the experience should be in a similar role.
- Knowledge of and commitment to child friendly and participatory data collection, storage, analysis & reporting.
- Experience in child protection and enterprise development skills training
- Experience in motorcycle riding
- Proficiency in Ngakaramojong language
