Community Project Facilitator

Purpose of the position: Facilitates participatory development processes in schools and/or local spaces that impact the objective of the Safe Horizons project: Andean Alliance for Disaster- Resilient Education/ Horizontes Seguros: Alianza Andina para la Educación Resiliente ante Desastres, an initiative that seeks to advocate for safe, equitable and continuous access to education, based on disaster risk management and violence prevention.

Accompanies the planning, implementation and monitoring processes of the project, within the framework of the country strategy 2022 – 2027 of Plan International Peru, in the districts of Contralmirante Villar and Tumbes (Tumbes region). The project response will seek to ensure that education systems and educational communities are better prepared to respond to disasters and violence, and will drive safe and inclusive access to and retention in education for children who are out of school or at risk. abandoning it in violence-affected and disaster-prone communities. In Peru this response will be implemented with sectoral authorities and technicians, educational institutions, civil society organizations and educational communities in the targeted areas.

Requirements:

  • Professional in social sciences, humanities, psychology, social work and related areas.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in facilitating community and/or regional development processes, and at least two years in educational environments.
  • Two years of experience in training children, adolescents and adults with participatory methodology
  • Knowledge about children’s rights and local protection systems.
  • Knowledge of the situation of education in contexts of multiple threats.
  • Knowledge and management of the gender and intercultural approach.
  • Management office at the user level.
