Community Protection Officer ( Anzoátegui ) At Save the Children

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Community Protection Officer will be located in Lechería, Edo. Anzoátegui. It will guarantee compliance with protection measures for the guarantee and restitution of the rights of children and adolescents in coordination with the implementing partners and other and affected entities.

To be successful you must comply with the following:

  • University education completed. Bachelor and / or Master in Social Sciences, Social Work, Sociology, Political Science, Human Rights, Protection of Children or related careers.
  • Experience in Child Protection.
  • Computer skills: handling the advanced MS Office package.
  • Languages: Basic level of English- Not indispensable. Minimum 2 years of experience in care at the individual, group and community levels, in public or private institutions, related to the protection of human rights and children and adolescents.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in work with the guarantee of protection for children and community work.
  • Promote inclusive and safe spaces, where NNAs express themselves openly without fear of being judged or singled out.
  • Ensure that the voice of the NNAs is heard and valued.
  • Deep understanding of NNA’s protection needs at the national and local levels.
  • Experience working with vulnerable and at-risk groups in communities.
  • Knowledge about the national child protection system.
  • Skills for sociocultural animation, network management, creation of safe, educational and meeting spaces between local actors.
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team in a comprehensive way.
  • Social and cultural sensitivity to handle complex situations of need, vulnerability and risk with tact and diplomacy.
  • Previous experience in managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate, and develop others.
