The La Guajira WASH Community Professional will be in charge, among others, of the following functions:
- Provide education in water, sanitation and hygiene and healthy lifestyle habits to members of the Wayúu communities in the project intervention areas through educational workshops;
- Support the development of recreational-educational materials adapted to the local context to promote hygiene habits;
- Support and actively participate in field activities carried out within the framework of the project to generate agreements in the care of water resources for human consumption and productive use;
- Ensure the correct application of the various support instruments for educational activities (attendance lists, photographic memories, monitoring and progress presentations, etc.).
- Systematize relevant project data and information in digital tools (Kobo ToolBox) periodically.
- Support the MEAL team in completing satisfaction and project exit surveys.
- Support community relations for the processes of improving the infrastructure of artisanal water wells and the adaptation of local gardens.
RATINGS:
- Professional in the social or human sciences (social work, pedagogy or ethno-education, sociology, anthropology, among others).
- Minimum two years of experience working in the field with communities, preferably carrying out educational activities in water, sanitation and hygiene. Essential experience with Wayúu indigenous communities. It is a plus to speak the Wayuunaiki language.
- Knowledge of the local water, sanitation and hygiene dynamics of the indigenous population of La Guajira.
- Experience with non-governmental organizations, associations and local entities.
- Ability to track activities and report on programmatic data.
- Management of the Office package and digital tools.
- Practical knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and tools.
- Ability to effectively utilize limited available resources and adapt to changing project needs.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
