The Transparency and Integrity Activity, hereinafter “the project”, is a five-year project to be implemented in El Salvador, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) that seeks to promote transparency and accountability of various State entities, including municipalities, and compliance with anti-corruption policies; as well as increase citizen participation and oversight over State activities to prevent and combat corruption.

In order to meet the objectives set, Counterpart International seeks to hire the services of a Driver to support the logistical and transportation aspects of the project in its technical and operational execution of the various activities of said area within the project.

Responsibilities

The Driver will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Transport project personnel, partners, equipment and/or materials in and out of San Salvador;
  • Perform routine checks and keep the vehicle in a safe and clean condition at all times;
  • Maintain records and logs of entries and exits of the assigned vehicle;
  • Comply with Counterpart International safety requirements, vehicle usage policy and operating procedures;
  • Provide logistical and operational support in relation to the organization of Project activities (e.g. meetings, workshops, etc.);
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid light vehicle driver’s license in El Salvador, submit a copy along with the job application;
  • Have an acceptable driving record provided by the responsible entities (Sertracen report, PNC solvency, Criminal Record), submit a copy of a recent record along with the application, and subsequently annually;
  • Pass a practical driving assessment test.
  • Ability to work and drive in challenging situations while providing excellent customer service; with a focus on the safety of the personnel being transported
  • Willingness to travel outside of San Salvador;
  • Available to work extended hours and short notice as needed;
  • Minimum five years driving experience, preferably with international organizations;
  • Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics, road nomenclature throughout the country, and a high degree of responsibility in personnel transportation.

Preferable:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
