About the job

Kvinna till Kvinna is currently implementing the Programme MENA Feminist Power in Action for Women’s Economic Rights (Fem PAWER) that will strengthen young women who face multiple discrimination of economic gender-based violence.

This program is part of a strategic partnership between Kvinna till Kvinna as lead applicant of a Consortium, consisting of four Women Rights and the Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation (Social Development Department, Taskforce Women’s Rights and Gender Equality).

In this role you have the responsibility to oversee the development, the implementation and monitoring of the consortium. You will be responsible to capacitate, drive, and empower the Consortium and the steering Committee of the Consortium. You will be part of developing the consortium strategy, coordinate and manage the implementation of consortium work plan on a day-to-day basis.

You will report to the Regional Manager in MENA.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

Strategic Program Management:

  • Ensure that the project is fully implemented according to the approved proposal and in accordance with rules and regulations.
  • Ensure the diversity and inclusion of the implementing partners at country level and across the region together with the country offices, following the approved proposal.
  • Responsible for the partnership’s management. Develop the capacity of the implementing partners when needed and as identified with the country offices
  • Ensure internal communication and coordination with KtK team at country level, regional level and HO level
  • Coordinate operational and financial planning and systems as well as identify and suggest human resources and logistics for the programme
  • Monitor budget and ensure timely quality reporting in accordance with donor rules and regulations.
  • Lead, develop and coordinate advocacy, communication, and visibility activities of the consortium programme.
  • Establish and follow up of a Communication and Visibility Plan

Reporting, Communication and Representation:

  • Represent equally all consortium partners.
  • Monitor program activities and results achievement, measured against the feminist approved results framework and final reports, disseminate these to consortium partners and ensure timely reporting to the donor.
  • Put in place a clear description of measurable outputs, milestones, key performance indicators and reporting
  • Ensure monitoring and evaluation systems of partners fit the project/grant and provide support if needed.
  • Build relationships and cooperate with Dutch embassies in implementing countries, like-minded organisations, INGOs, local authorities and private sector.

Consortium Management

  • Manage, coordinate, and support the consortium. Facilitate consortium management meetings and enable effective learning and sharing culture.
  • Chair the Steering Committee of the Consortium and act accordingly.

Management of Risks & Additional responsibilities

  • Be responsible, together with the finance and grant management teams, for overall financial oversight of the consortium budget and expenditure.
  • Regularly review and update risk register
  • Troubleshoot any challenges with program implementation in consultation with the implementing partners and bring this to attention of the Consortium.
  • Ensure compliance with security procedures and policies as set by Kvinna till Kvinna. Proactively ensure that partners operate in a secure environment and are aware of policies.
  • Oversee the tender processes for Consultants and Contractors to carry out the work.

About you

You need to at least have

  • Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in Project cycle management including PMEL, reporting and finance management.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience of successfully managing and implementing projects or programs
  • Strong knowledge of women’s human rights, economic rights and feminist movement building demonstrated through a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Successful track record in lobbying and engaging the UN, EU and or other international bodies; capacity development experience is also an asset.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
  • Coordination skills

Terms & conditions and what we offer

This position may be stationed in several locations in the MENA region, including Amman, Jerusalem, Tunis, or Beirut, and regular travel across the region.

This is a national position and will fall under the local legislation depending on placement as agreed. We offer a 2 years renewable fixed term contract (based on performance) starting with a 6 months trial period.
