In the Ituri, Haut Uélé, Bas Uélé and Kasaï Central Provinces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), MI has been providing humanitarian assistance since 2000, where MI carries out various projects in the areas of health, water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), and food security.

For the management of our consortium project in DR Congo, we are recruiting a Consortium Coordinator.

The Consortium Coordinator, based in Kinshasa, will ensure the proper management and monitoring of the consortium of three international NGOs working on a health project focused on the fight against epidemics and the response to MPox in the DRC. He/she will work under the supervision of the MI Country Coordinator in the DRC and in close collaboration with the consortium partners. He/she will ensure the quality and relevance of the project and will regularly provide recommendations for activities and organizational analyses. He/she will necessarily be required to regularly visit the consortium’s intervention areas.

Your responsibilities:

  • Ensure the management of the consortium by coordinating and supervising compliance with rules and standards, organizing launch and closing meetings, monthly follow-ups and biannual capitalization workshops, and ensuring effective communication between partners.
  • Ensure internal and external coordination by representing the consortium with donors, other organizations, clusters and authorities, by coordinating the project with other humanitarian actors in the area, and by carrying out advocacy actions with national and local authorities.
  • Ensure the drafting and monitoring of project reports, proposals or amendments by planning deadlines, producing reports, validating reports with partners, and developing the monitoring and evaluation system with the SERA manager.
  • Ensure monthly budget monitoring and expenditure planning with managers, as well as preparation of budget revisions, amendments or extensions in collaboration with partners.

Your profile:

  • Degree in health, humanitarian aid, development or similar field.
  • At least three years of field experience in program representation, coordination and management.
  • Experience in managing projects funded by the European Union would be an asset.
  • Skills in institutional communication and coordination and consortium work.
  • Excellent ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong organizational, diplomatic, and representation/negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written expression (writing and proofreading reports within short deadlines).
  • Ability to adapt to a changing security context (experience in a crisis zone considered an asset).
