The Syria Resilience Initiative (SRI) is a consortium established in 2016, dedicated to fostering resilience and promoting social and economic well-being in Syria. The SRI collaborates with partners and donors to equip individuals, families, and communities in Syria with the tools and skills they need to rebuild their lives amidst ongoing challenges. Operating across North-West, North-East, and Southern-Central Syria, the SRI adopts an integrated programming approach, ensuring coordinated and impactful interventions across all areas of political control.

Position Overview:
The SRI is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Consortium Director to lead the consortium and its Program Management Unit (PMU). As the Consortium Director, you will play a pivotal role in advancing SRI’s vision and strategy, ensuring effective collaboration among consortium members, and driving impactful resilience programming in Syria. You will report to the SRI Steering Committee and work closely with the consortium members, donors, and stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Program Management Unit (PMU) Leadership

  • Lead and manage the PMU team, ensuring alignment with the Terms of Reference (TOR).
  • Oversee the development of budgets, work plans, and action plans for PMU tasks and task forces.
  • Provide line management, including performance management, to PMU staff.

2. Strategy Development, Resource Mobilization, and Impactful Programming

  • Lead the development, implementation, and review of the SRI vision, priorities, strategy, and roadmap.
  • Develop and execute a resource mobilization plan in consultation with consortium members and the Steering Committee.
  • Coordinate with Grant Holders and consortium members to enhance donor engagement and secure funding for impactful programming.

3. Coordination, Representation, and Advocacy

  • Coordinate consortium management and decision-making processes.
  • Lead SRI’s external representation in forums, meetings, and working groups related to resilience building in Syria.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a common communication and advocacy agenda aligned with the SRI vision and priorities.

4. Financial Management

  • Lead budget development for new grants and fundraising efforts.
  • Manage budget realignments and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
  • Oversee financial management, expenditure monitoring, and donor financial reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advanced degree in International Development, Humanitarian Affairs, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in humanitarian or development programming, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in consortium management, strategy development, and resource mobilization.
  • Strong understanding of resilience programming and complex crisis contexts.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience working in or on Syria is highly desirable.
