The protracted crisis in the Lake Chad Basin region remains one of the most severe humanitarian emergencies in the world, affecting the North East of Nigeria, the Far North region of Cameroon, the Lake region of Chad and the Diffa region in Niger. The crisis has unfolded in a region beset by chronic fragility where poverty, underdevelopment, gender inequality, unemployment, and a lack of prospects for young people fuel extremism.
The project, Youths Leading Stabilisation Efforts in The Lake Chad Basin is a multi-country project designed and implemented by Plan International to support peace and security and strengthen stabilization efforts in the Lake Chad Basin across the 3 three countries: Nigeria, Cameroon, and Niger.
Plan International Nigeria is seeking the services of a consultant to undertake a capacity building program for youths of the Kaleri Youth Group and other key youth organizations we are engaging with in peacebuilding, social cohesion; life skills; policy influencing and civic activism.
