Consultant for Organization Development Facilitation Design & Process Plan for CSO & CBO Partners At World Wide Fund For Nature

1. Background

Organizational Development (OD) is the strategic, transformational process that supports and enables a WWF Myanmar office to clarify and achieve its organizational goals, and link them closely to the delivery of the conservation strategy. OD Contribution to Conservation Strategies: OD program indirectly supports the conservation strategy and its strategic plans by developing organizational capacity for WWF Myanmar office to deliver on their conservation targets. OD is not seen as an add-on process to the existing conservation strategies, but rather as an integral part of it.

The vision of the OD program is to ensure conservation impact by building strong, healthy, effective and resilient office through the OD approach. WWF Myanmar OD program has ten focused areas of work and OD4CSO is a new initiative in the program. The purpose of supporting partner organizations with organizational development support is to assist them in strengthening their organization to achieve conservation goals in Myanmar collectively. CSO (Civil Society Organizations) and CBO ( Community Based Organizations) play a vital role in conservation work and they are the key change agents in bringing sustainable conservation impact. Their organization sustainability is also directly proportional to the sustainable outcomes. With this, WWF Myanmar expands its OD services to partner organizations and plans to develop OD learning and development support framework and process.

For this, WWF Myanmar is looking for an OD consultant or a team of consultants to develop facilitation design and process plan for OD support to CSO & CBO partners.

2. Objective of the consultancy

The overall objective of this consultancy is to develop a OD4CSO framework together with required tools supporting the CSOs in facilitating organizational learning and change.

3. Linkage

The OD4CSO framework and all tools and models related to it should be the integral part of the CSO engagement framework contributing to the transformation and the sustainability of WWF Myanmar CSO/CBO partners.

4. Scope of work/ Major responsibility

The consultant is:

(a) To work closely with OD Manager, Strategy, Impact and Innovation Manager, CSO engagement team, program functional leads to discuss the OD support required in doing conservation work and develop OD4CSO framework in collaboration with CSO partners and WWF Myanmar teams.

(b) Building on and referring to the existing OD4CSO assessment tool and document, create a stakeholder mapping tool, identify the required information including a checklist for organizations (CSO/CBO) level of readiness (readiness for change) and commitment in receiving OD support and consultation.

(c) To design different OD assessment models and processes relevant to the different levels of organizations (CSOs/CBOs) maturity for facilitating organizational change

(d) To identify the roles and responsibility of Internal OD taskforce, design the OD task force team structure and produce TOR

(e) To build the capacity OD taskforce and other relevant internal team members by providing the training and orientation of formulated tools and concepts

5. Outputs/ deliverable of performance

A Consultant is expected to perform and produce the following deliverables:

(a). OD4CSO Framework

(b) OD assessment models, tools, processes, readiness workshop design and checklist/tool.

(c) Formation of Internal OD taskforce with its TOR and roles

(d) Orientation training of formulated tools, processes and frameworks

(a) A brief summary or a report of the consultation

6. Requirements

*Knowledge/Expertise and Experience:*

A consultant for Organization Development Facilitation Design & Process Plan for CSO/CBO Partners.

must have:

  • A master degree in organization development or a relevant field
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in organization development consultation and high level facilitation in non-profit conducts of internal organization
  • A sound experience in working with CSOs/CBOs especially in Organization Development
  • At least 10 years of experience working in the context
  • Proven knowledge and experience in change management, organization analysis, organization capacity assessment in OD approach
  • Other key skills required: Strategic thinking, analytical, Communication, Organization and Coordination, good reporting
