Consultant – Graphic Design for Program Guidance Document – Remote At Mercy Corps

The Gender Team leads efforts to ensure that Mercy Corps reaches our ambitious gender equality and social inclusion goals in our programs. The gender team leads the development of strong proposals and concept notes to ensure the integration of gender and social inclusion at all phases of the program cycle; and it sets strategic direction for organizational systems and processes to be sensitive to gender and social inclusion.

Purpose / Project Description:

The Gender Team recently developed a 14-page document detailing programmatic guidance for the meaningful engagement of men and boys in key Mercy Corps intervention sectors. The team is seeking a graphic designer to transform the content into a document format that is visually appealing, easy to read and ready for online publishing, and printing.

Consultant Activities:

  • Design a layout
  • Design illustrations and graphics, as needed, to visually communicate concepts and ideas

Consultant Deliverables:

  • Final document in PDF format for website and print publication.

Experience and Requirements:

  • 5-10 years experience as a graphic designer or in related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field
  • Demonstrable graphic design skills with a strong portfolio
  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools
  • A strong eye for visual composition
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism
  • Experience with computer-aided design
  • Layout skills
  • Creativity
  • Attention to detail
