CONSULTORIA :Estudio Impacto del cambio climático en los asentamientos informales del Valle de Sula. At Habitat for Humanity

1. PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The main objectives of the consultancy are:
Prepare a study on the Impact of climate change in the Informal Settlements of the Sula Valley within the framework of the “Home is” Public Policy Advocacy campaign that seeks to strengthen capacities in strategies future adaptation and mitigation to climate change.
Specifically, it is intended to:
1.Review, analyze and record descriptively, in a reflective manner, the impacts of climate change on the resident population in the informal settlements of the Sula Valley, including socioeconomic factors, infrastructure and structure of housing and settlement, as well as of community network analysis in the last decade.
2.Document the main experiences and experiences at the individual, family and community level of the residents of the AIs around Climate Change that allow the establishment of lines of action in addressing future interventions.
3.Identify areas, opportunities or potential project ideas aligned with the programmatic approaches of Habitat for Humanity Honduras aimed at improving the conditions of families residing in the informal settlements of the Sula Valley.
The research work must be carried out in close relationship with Habitat staff and other organizations with experience in the subject and with impact in the Sula Valley.
2. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE OF THE CONSULTANT
•Professionals with training in Social, Environmental and/or Space Sciences or related careers.
•Extensive knowledge in risk management and climate change
•Knowledge in the subject of adequate habitability
•Experience in qualitative and quantitative research with NGOs, development cooperation organizations.
•Have proven capacity in Social and Environmental Research
•Experience writing technical reports
•Knowledge of the context of the reality of the Sula Valley.
•Knowledge of Climate Change Assessment Models

3. WORK PERIOD
The work period will have a duration of 45 days from February 10, 2024 to March 26, 2023
